MS Outlook - Help

Guys,

I had Ms Office 2000 with Outlook 2000. Got my PDA and had to install Outlook 2002 to sync the PDA with the computer. Got it done and everything worked perfect till.............I decided to get my gmail account configured to Outlook. That wasnt possible with Outlook 2002 due to some problems , so I tried Outlook 2000, which created problems in the sync relation between the PDA and computer. So back I went to Outlook 2002 , same problem syncing with the PDA and to top it , gmail still not configured.

So I upgraded to Outlook 2003, still gmail not working in Outlook, but Outlook 2003 downloads my gmail on my laptop like a dream. Whats happening here ? Can someone help ? I have searched the net and tried out various things suggested to no avail. Please some one help me out here.

cheers

Apparently different people find different solutions work for the problem you've described. See here for an excellent discussion on various solutions...

Sorry if my question sound stupid but are you trying to download gmail mails directly on PDA or are you synching the downloaded mails on to the PDA ?

I am currently working on PDAs nothing with Outlook but it relates to synching issues, thats why asking.

Btw which version of MS Active Synch are you using? The latest is 4.1

just in case you are on older version then download this version from MS site for free. This is the URL
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...ng=en#filelist

Techno,

I am trying to DL the mails from my gmail account to my desktop via MS Outlook 2003. It works beautifully on the laptop with the MTNL dialup , but at office I surf through a proxy server and I have a Sify broadband connection. Is the proxy server causing the problem ??

Hey NC,

Yes it may be..
Which software do u use for internet sharing ?

Yes proxy Server plays an important role like mentioned by MP.

What am asking is that are you downloading it directly on a PDA or you are first downloading on your laptop & then synching\transfering these mails to your PDA ?
