When I click it, it is opening another page where all are listed at 31K onwards.

In any case, someone wanting to buy can keep an eye.

Canon is running page full ads for this deal at MRP of 36K at my place. So I am skeptical if one can get it for 21K full kit. Thanks SDP anyways. If someone gets it at 21K it is a real steal deal for him.

Nikon has issued a disclaimer on the warranty if purchased from Flipkart or Snapdeal. It is better for you to buy from Nikon Authorized dealers.

I would recommend D3100 over other upgrades for the cost. If you have budget, go for D5300.

I want to use a single lens during travel and I was looking for a long range lens. Although this is a kit lens but the build quality is better than 18-55 kit. I would recommend the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens.

That is what I came to know from Google. Any difference between 18-140 and 18-105? Just asking because the 18-105 is available in Amazon and not elsewhere. And after Nikon's statement about Flipkart and Snapdeal, bit skeptical.

1. check which is newer. The newer release likely to be better.
2. rent it out & test it before you buy
3. one small point against an 18-140 is that it will have a fair overlap with a second lens you may buy - typical examples : 55-200 / 55-300 / 70-200 / 70-300 etc.

I am using 18-140mm and would recommend it. Love the convenience of not changing lens during vacation. I had shared my impressions a few pages back. The images are much better than 18-55mm kit lens.

I am using this lens (non VC version) for the last six months and I can say that it is one of the best walkaround lenses you can buy at that price. For a sub-25,000-rupee lens, it's a remarkable replacement for my kit lens, which I was almost never using (and therefore missing anything that needed wider than 50mm!).

It is almost equally good throughout the entire focal length range, though at the extremes, you might find f/3.2 or f/3.5 a little sharper than f/2.8.

The VC version is about 6,000 more but almost all reviews said it was less sharp. I can say I am happy with the purchase, though lack of VC means missing two stops in lesser light.

I am using a Canon EOS 500D (Rebel t1i).

I am new to dslrs and I have shortlisted 3 of them as per my budget-
1. Canon Eos 1200D dual lens kit
2. Canon 600D single lens kit
3. Nikon D3200 single lens kit

-I am leaned towards the D3200 after going through comparisons considering that it does everything better than 600D except than it lacks a flip screen.
-I will be using this camera body for atleast 4 years before an upgrade.

Please help me in my buying decision.

PS- can a dslr used in sonmarg and gulmarg? (working temperature mentioned is 0-40degrees for most dslrs)

I am now using the Tamron 18-270mm vc pzd with my Canon 70D, was earlier using it with Canon 350D & its the perfect walkaround lens for me. Only slight distortion at maximum zoom; only professionals can spot it.

I went for this after my Canon 55-250mm got stolen on a trip to China; then decided no frequent lens changing for me.

Question for the Gurus: Can someone recommend a good wide angle lens? Is the Canon 10-22 the best there is? Costs >50k though!

Non guru here. I heard there's a new 10-18 in the market, which is around 20-25k.

Do check that out.

IMHO unless you're an architecture or nature aficionado, this one should do a decent enough job. The 10-22 is awesome but most people don't shoot that much wide angle to justify the purchase.

Sorry for the misleading statement. What I meant is that 18-140 would make a great travel lens. I already have one. Using it with D3100 for a while without issues.

• Tokina 11-16 f/2.8
• Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM

I am a Nikon user. I had the Sigma 10-20 f/ 4-5.6 until I upgraded my gear to FX. Very well built and good performance as well. The constant f/3.5 should be even better. Even the super ultra wide Sigma 8-16MM f/4.5-5.6 DC HSM makes sense at around 50k budget.



P.S: If you have a plan to upgrade to FX in the future, do get a good FX lens, even if you have to stretch the budget a bit.
