Guys after good 65 days of wait I received my M42 to EF-S converter with Auto-focus confirmation which I purchased on e-bay for some 20$ , I ordered on 11 Sept and got it on 20 Nov at my home.
With this I was able to use my Super Takumar 50mm F1.4 which I acquired for approx 100$ on e-bay US in Sept , the results are mind blowing as of now , Will post the test snaps from home ..

Need to do a lot of learning with shallow DOF with wide open lens.

Ufff, 65 days of waiting ? Did it come by road ?
I ordered a car mobile charger 14 days back and I was already getting impatient with this waiting ! I feel very relaxed after reading your post . I think free-shipping comes with a compromise.

Bought a 500D

Hi All,

After lot of research and deciding on the budget i bought a Canon 500D with 18-55kit lens on 20/Nov/2010 .

Frankly, i dont know much about the technical jargons of photography.i had a habit of clicking photos and they used to come out well to.so slowly started to read about cams and kept reading reviews (lots).

Finally thought of buying 50D without bill for 42-44k,then since stock was not available for past 3 weeks,i bought 500D with bill.

Hope to learn more thur this forum.

Exactly another sample of a toad , Focus is on head and hind limbs are little out of focus , but otherwise the sharpness and colors looks good. No processing done except resizing.

Can someone guide me how to mark (C) in a picture. Any special software that can do this in batch rather than having to do with each picture in Paint.

Thanks in advance.

@MileC. In Windows, you enter Alt+0169 (press alt, type 0 1 6 9, then leave alt key)

@Chetan. Lovely picture. Nice composition. Like the way there is not much man made objects in this.

Yes Super Takumar is name of the lens made in early 70s.

It is not about the costs, Canon 50mm 1.8 would have worked out even less for me but this lens is F 1.4

The lens is all metal construction and people say that this lens is very sharp and bokeh generated by this is excellent. As I said I am yet to use it fully.
The portrait below it is shot in florescent tube with out flash hand-held.

There was a time when these lenses used to go for a song but after popularity of Canon EF-S to which adopters with infinite focus can be made they have appreciated a lot.
