re: PC & Console games - Discussion Thread

I play on my iMac. Naturally the selection is somewhat limited :(

Currently finishing up Portal 2 (Long pending - Thanks to Steam which saved my progress from an age old laptop that I used three years ago). Also playing in parallel - Bioshock Infinite. Love the virtual world depicted in this game.

Next in line is Longest Journey - the new chapters. (Already finished Longest Journey and Dreamfall)

Oh yes, had got it before that and finished the game some time back. Loved it though I really wanted to play with a gamepad. The cheapo gamepad I had bought didn't work correctly and I finished the game with the keyboard. What a game. I mean, simple in concept but wonderful in a storyline. Loved it.

Now playing The Walking Dead 2 as I just finished watching the series.

re: PC & Console games - Discussion Thread

I just haven't moved on with the times - these are the games I play on my PC:
  • Age of Mythology
  • Rise of Nations
  • Age of Empires III
  • Call of Duty 2
  • Call of Duty: World at War

The first 2 games are now on Steam (came earlier this year), so its nice to play legal games without discs. The other 3 have been on Steam for ages. Funnily enough, with the exception of CoD: World at War, I have both CD/DVD versions and Steam versions of the other games.

Is it only me or others too find it difficult (almost impossible for me) to play FPS games on Consoles. I have been unsuccessfully trying to get going in COD on my Xbox360 but now it feels that this game was never meant tobe played on console.

Glad you liked the title. Can you try Papo & Yo sometime? You’ll love this one as well.

How did you find the ending of Brothers?

I am done until Episode 3 and paused it. It has been good so far but somehow it doesn’t have that awesomeness of the first one. Man, that was on a different league when it came out!

Oh man! Good times those were. I think I was in my 10th grade when AoM was out. The Norse one had me intrigued at that time. I still recall the Ragnarok superpower from the title wherein all the villagers convert themselves to mighty heroes. Instant pwnage!

FPS titles using controllers can be mastered. Takes a while when coming from the keyboard and mouse. I’ve completed Killzone 2, 3, all the Resistance titles on the PS3 and the Halo titles on the X360 (normal difficulty) and the initial bits are hard (precisely moving the crosshair for a shot) but don’t fret. It may take some time but you’ll master it eventually.

Yup, the first title was really, really good. Much more depth in the characters. Second one seems like an afterthought.

The Walking Dead Season 2 done and dusted. Good title but somehow the characters and the atmosphere of this one felt a little less impressive compared to the first. Good to hear that Telltale is already working on Season 3. Compressed the save files folder and preserved a copy on Google drive. Will come in handy when Season 3 is out.

Had paused The Wolf Among Us midway through. Will continue that.

Btw this is relevant here:

Yeah I didn't find The Walking Dead Season 2 as good as the first one.

Haha, that Steam sale pic is hilarious. There will be sales during Christmas....

Thanks for the recos! Got Trine 2 and Papa & Yo in the Steam sale. Papa & Yo was so neat that I ended up spending 3 hours after installing.

Very simple game, never gets you frustrated - cause it is concentrating on the story.

Nice! Enjoy the title while it lasts.

I paused The Wolf among Us and started Outland. It’s a 2D platformer but a damn good title. Clocked some 3 hours on a single sitting. Do give it a shot if you like this genre.

How's Far Cry 4? Heard that although the visuals are brilliant, the gameplay is very similar to that of Far Cry 3 (clearing outposts and such). Interesting enough? How's the storyline?
