Yes, meant Diablo3. Yup mixed up Max Payne there. But those are the kind of games I play. I gotta read up on Dragon Age, Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher.

Else opt for the 32GB model. Check second-hand markets for the older hard drive based models - the slim ones in particular.
Yeah was looking at second-hand online. But does this have to be a "hacked" one? Though might have to get one only in Jan.

Not necessarily. If you can find one, nothing like it. But the owners overprice hacked consoles because of obvious reasons!

Like I said before, you can bank on low-priced titles that retail on Flipkart, Snapdeal and other e-retailers or even at the brick and mortar outlets like landmark. Once you are done with a title, sell it off after deducting say about 200-300 Rs. There are always buyers for the titles at any point of time.

I am really enjoying GT5 on PS3. Just started and love the AMG Nurburgring challenge.

I’ve been playing NFS Rivals since a while and used the 60 fps fix. The fix is effective and removes the 30 fps lock provided the computer hardware is reasonably good and the GPU drivers are updated. But there are a few occasional hiccups and frame drops during intense sequences.

As for gameplay, the rubberband AI is present. Opponent and cop cars catch up incredibly fast like the previous installments. The ability to switch to cop career at any point is a welcome change. Each chapter progresses through a set of objectives which upon completion, unlocks a particular car. Ferrari is back in NFS after a long time. I guess the last iteration where we saw Ferrari was in Hot Pursuit 2. 458 Spider, 599 GTO, Enzo and F12 Berlinetta are the Ferrari cars.

Batman Arkham Origins is backlogged at the moment. Shuttling between this and Rivals. Got to take up AC IV Black Flag after that.

For the PC I've always loved those Hidden Object games from Gamehouse and Bigfish. They've usually got some really good graphics, music to suit the theme of the game and an interesting plot that keeps you connected. Also, the fact that you can choose to continue from where you left off with the same level of involvement makes it a no-nonsense option.

I just remembered an oldie that I loved to play- Syberia (I & II) - an adventure & puzzle solving game. 5/5 stars for that one! Looking forward to Syberia III (coming in 2014)

OK just when I was planning to jump into platform gaming, the graphics card on my desktop conked off. It is an old 8600 GT card - the fan isn't running. Tried online and replacement cards only available from China. Local service guy says no stock of 53 mm cards for graphics cards. Any pointers?

Also, can someone suggest a decent card within 5K that I can buy - to at least play some new games on low setttings? How is the Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 6670?

Look no further than the Nvidia geForce gt 630 or the AMD/ATI HD 6670. Both are pretty much similar in performance. Expect about 35-45 fps with somewhat recent games.

Total War: Rome II. This is a turn based strategy game. Player can choose to play any of the numerous factions Hellenistic, Roman, Barbarian or Eastern . What I like a lot about this game is its so open ended like Sim City and it has beautiful graphics. But the biggest negative which takes away the fun is huge time lag between turns because AI plays out all the other factions (must be 15 to 25), then I get to play my turn. Im still playing though but the time lag gets even more irritating when some AI controlled faction wants to interact with my faction, so the roulette pauses, I can't go away and come back. This may seem shocking but it is that. Wish it was faster and the AI more intelligent.

Guys who like survival-horror genre can try playing the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series. With the mod community really active for all the three versions released till date, the game is much more fun. I just wish real racing 3 comes to the pc platform .

Thanks for reminding me the Stalker series. I had played Shadow Of Chernobyl and Clear Sky long back. I was very much addicted to this series even though it was plagued with bugs. It was fun looking for artifacts in the nuclear wasteland. Since you have reminded me this game, I'm going to search these games in my collection and will start all over again. Any idea on the Stalker 2 which was supposed to get released after Call Of Pripyat?

Had completed all the 3 long back. What a fantastic series! RPG, survival horror, FPS all clubbed into one.

STALKER 2 has been cancelled since a while. The developer GSC Game World has shut down and the developers moved to 2 different studios - 4A Games which developed Metro 2033 and its sequel Last Light. And the other being Vostok Games which developed Survarium following the cancellation of STALKER 2.

Sad to hear that. Those where the days when game developers target was to show more creativity. These days the goals are to include more DLCs and micro-transactions which brings more business with creativity taking a backseat.

But now we have something new to look forward to. A bunch of freelance developers are making a bigger and more open world of stalker and it has been called "lost alpha". More than a mod this will be a standalone and the graphics are seriously good for an old engine.

I had so much fun playing Assassins Creed : Brotherhood, GTA-4 and Crysis 3, but lost touch with games after the HDD crashed and I had to start all the games from the start! Any suggestions to new games I should look out for?
