Thanks. Takumars are serving me well. I used Tamron 17-50/2.8 (non-VC) for both these landscape shots.

Hi buddy, been busy with few other things lately, need to get back to the shooting mood again. I have a paid account here 500px / Shaju Joseph and I am totally impressed with the high resolution maintained. What you post is what others see, no compression, no image degrading. Browse through editor's choice, you will be blown away !! Warning: beware of the nude content, no filtering !

An impressive collection of images in the last 2 pages, very good quality improvement is seen, glad to be part of this thread

Loved the lion and zebra one. (Somehow reminded me of the movie, Madagascar!)

^That is so wonderfull, I must say. I have been there myself and it was one of my favorite spots, but still it took me some time to realize its the same place!!!

The mirror effect is natural or photoshopped?

Something unique from the usual landscape shots. My last visit was in 2003 and never had the time to photograph the mountains, valleys or water. Inspired to go again

Any specific reason for certain areas to be sharp and others blurred ?

Looks like you have permanently set the white balance towards warm.

Its natural. The only thing I changed is the exposure (Under exposed it a bit). Even I was wondering that the water is so still to give a perfect mirror impression.

Thanks Shaju. Yes, the reason is, to get the details in the sky, I used the adjustment brush and so typically at peaks you can see the different on a close watch . Well, this tells me that I need to master the art of post processing.

, Actually it was done deliberately. Now I have corrected it, hope it looks fine and much cooler to the eyes.

Thanks!
Am sorry, don't have a color version. Took this with a welding glass. Still figuring out the custom white balance on cam. Until I do that, the heavy green cast is pretty hard to correct in PP. Hence converted to gray scale.

Thanks for the clarification, I would love to get a welding glass myself ! Its as equal as the 'big stopper' if my understanding is correct. Didn't you put the white balance in digits than selecting pre-set modes ? One is supposed to figure out the white balance and shutter speed before putting the filter/glass on. Curious to know the Exif of that B&W shot. If its shot in RAW you can get back the original color what you saw.
