Wow! TG, nice shot there. Just a little more deeper DOF wouldn't have hurt, the dog's nose is out of focus. :( But I like this very narrow DOF anyway.

50mm , f/2.8?

mate, just a small suggestion for better composition, the last but fourth shot (coconut trees and lake) could have been shot better easily, by including one or two coconut trees fully in the frame and by avoiding the trunk which is very close to the cam.

@clevermax
I just wanted the eye alone to be in focus, hence the shot. Its 50mm f 1.4.

This one too..

Thank you very much for your suggestion. Actually what I tried to do is get clear focus on the trunk and move it to the side of the frame, so the trunk with the beautiful Kaithappuzha kayal as back ground. But the other way ( as suggested by you) would have been looked better.

I'll try it next time.

It will be tough to take pictures with the intended focus with such fast lenses at their max aperture, unless you have something like face/eye detection (Yours has right?) The dof is too narrow for f/1.4! Your 50mm prime shots inspires me and someday I'll get such a lens....

@clevermax
There is no face/eye detection in the camera, infact the D3s has no such "auto" settings. Plus, I shot both t hose shots with manual focus, the doggie keeps moving around all the time, so auto focus is hard. Manual is way easier to handle in this situation. Stuff like face detection, kills the hardworking photographer in me :P

The third shot of the landing pelican is cool..whats that black ting out of focus?It sorta spoils the beauty of the shot.
@TSEA
