@wheeler
Its the reflections in the glass that makes that picture one of my favorites actually..I love how the juxtapositioning of forms happens there...it conveys the busyness of the environment, where the boy is in. It says something more about the story, so hence I would keep it that way.

Sunny smile!

Here are some of my images. Let me know what you guys think.

The last one isn't too sharp, I tried to clean it up but it just didn't look right, so I left it as it is now.

Here you go...

Noise seems to be constant feedback to a lot of the images. I think I need to check if NR is employed in the camera if not I should.

Also could it be picasa to some extent? Usually open raw in picasa, cropping applying auto levels and saving to jpg.

@souljah
A tad lesser exposure would have made the butterfly image pop! Thanks for your comment on my last series!

s0uljah,

This looks much better. I would suggest using Lightroom (which is free as of now, LR 3 beta version) for editing. Also check your camera to see if Auto ISO has been selected, that could be one of the reason for high noise.

Inferno

The fire raging on at the IOC depot. This photo was taken at midnight from my terrace.

My house is around 11kms away as the crow flies, from the sight.

Terrible, really really terrible!!!

I think the air is a bit warm, but it could be just my imagination. Its indeed scary, around a radius of 4 kms the situation is bad, smoke is causing lots of allergies and breathing problems. And the worst is the fire is still the same as it was yesterday. Its been almost 22 hrs since it started.

the fire has spread in an area of 1.5 kms. I used a 300mm zoom, so maybe thats why it looks close

A bit OT but the petroleum minister has said that this fire is uncontrollable and will only be over when all the fuel burns out.

What an incompetent statement.

Regarding to the effect a hyundai workshop and new stock there was shown.there were 30 old cars in for servicing and 60 new cars.all of them has shattered glasses due to the heat and even the body panels had very weirdly bent inwards.

this was shown in the news.its a very very bad fire and a huge waste of fuel.

i think some 11k gallons of fuel was there.please correct me if i'm wrong.
