I have a question. The exposure bracketing actually changes exposure? or just the exposure compensation? in the latter case it's useless if I have the raw image (CHDK cheers, I can apply the exposure compensation later, right?

I took 3 images with exposure bracketing in my S2 IS in Tv mode, and all three of them show F/2.7, exposure 1/2 secs, as I had set it. It shows exposure bias as -1.3, -.7 and 3.3 though. what really did my camera do?

That depends on the dynamic range of your camera, still this will be limited. Yes, exposure bracketing changes the EV or exposure shot-to-shot by a specifed step.

That means only ISO was changed, considering you haven't mentioned ISO being constant.

Three parameters determine EV, the aperture, shutter speed and ISO. By changing any one or a combination of them, exposure value can be changed.

Oh yeah, actually initially while converting the RAW I thought of compensating for the color cast but somehow didn't liked that result and kept it as is.

Both the shots are taken with Canon 10-22mm, handheld (tripods are not allowed) and with CPL on..

Thanks! Well i haven't yet thought of going for one DSLR seriously though i have been doing my research. Maybe after a year i might take the plunge...till then its gonna be my H50

ok, I looked again, I realized it did not have a value for ISO, that's why i didn't notice any difference.


So, bracketing can work on any of the three variables. which means choosing to shoot in raw was not a substitute to bracketing as I had thought.
