Sorry for the repost. I actually posted this pic in the Imports section, but due to the warm response and after realizing the 'Artistic' value of the pic. I decided to post it here as well.

Pic shot by ImmortalZ at the bhpian get together, the night before the Team-BHP Monsoon drive which was held on 3rd April 2010.

Navin, nice shot but you should have avoided the tree reflection on the bonnet and windscreen and exposed the nose of the car a bit more.

^ Sir,

The car doesn't have the usual Rudra shine
Any particular reason or is it just the car color and background which makes it look dull.

I agree. It doesn't have that usual shine from dark colours. There are actually two reasons here.
A. Light was flat and coming for rear/right. From this point of view capturing bright side panel and to maintain front details looks like a task.
At the same time colour depth and tone had to be correct.
B. Capturing this particular blue was also the objective.

One more shot will come here soon where you'll see more shine and gloss.

Remember while shooting metallic paint surface. Especially under flat kind of light it looks more bright than actually it is. This is not the case for all the paints though.
For example, black Altis will look more or less proper black because metallic particles there are not densely packed.

@riju: If you hadn't gone too far with the glow or orton effect that is present, it would have been a nice looking HDR.

@Rudraji: Nice shot! Makes me remind that Punto shot you posted with almost the same terrain in the background.
BTW, I feel that the color tone of the body has deviated a little from the actual? I can see an i20 with same color parked below from my office desk, the car in the picture looks a bit desaturated. (May be it is my monitor)

Thanks for the comments furioussphinx.
I really wanted the reflection because it otherwise looked very plain.
The nose was underexposed to hide some paint fade on the bumper and more than that the car didnt have a number plate in the front and the frame spoiled the looks.

These were actually some test shots with a 1D Mark II and canon 10-22 combination at 12mm.

One more from the same location
