Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

I'd think that taking a pup to vet at 11 days is probably easier than at 11 weeks!

But... Is there any possibility of the mother rejecting a young pup coming home with all peculiar smells?

About a couple of months ago, one of our cats got severely injured with a wound on her back that was about half an inch deep and nearly as wide. An Ayurvedic oil by name "Murivenna" is what we treated her wound with, twice in a day. In about 12-14 days the wound completely vanished!! It is actually not a veterinary specific oil. I too have used it myself many a times to treat wounds/bruises and it works wonderfully well. The oil is generally available in pharmacies and also on Flipkart and Amazon. While consulting a vet is definitely good given the puppies are just 11 days old, you may try applying the oil if consulting vet is not immediately feasible for some reason.

Two calves, born last week - within 3 days of each other.

I was at my aunt's place for a day when I met these. A bit of TLC, and both felt comfortable to come up to me. Loved to watch them run and jump around - but realised these too can pack a punch if the kick lands on you. No, didnt get any such treatment but one did step on my foot.

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

I had to shift the mumma dog and puppies to my neighbors parking as the mumma dog was getting aggressive and kept barking at people (the neighbor was caring for her before me, she just chose my home for birthing puppies). It was becoming difficult to handle her and puppies along with my wfh. Anyway the pups are almost a month old now, healthy and lively. I've noticed mumma dog is not feeding them much, so I've been feeding them my cat's wet food. My cat has become spoilt and picky eater, doesn't eat anything other than meat and whiskas gravy wet food so the pups are getting whiskas jelly food, and they love it ! You can see one pup who had injury on his back, it looks healed somehow but his butt area has this flaky skin. I have no idea how this has happened, and this puppy walks a bit wobbly.
Second pup from the left has this flaky skin

Indian breed dogs dont get the attention a GSD or say a labrador gets, but they are really special.
Here is my doggo DoN, he is an Indian mastiff and just under 9 months old, and btw that garden fence is 4 feet high

That is one handsome doggo! Would you mind sharing from where did you acquire the pup? And how is the temperament?

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

I have heard of the joke that my cat/dog ate my homework numerous times but yesterday was the first time I kind of experienced it in reality

Team-BHPians and their Pets-biting.jpg

The culprit? Mars, the rascal below (don't go by his benign looks). Just over a year old, any piece of paper (like the tissue paper bits lying next to him) will be chewed and torn to pieces. So far the attack has been on paper bills, empty covers, books, newspapers, even a 500 rupee note! Surprisingly his brother cat doesn't exhibit any of these traits at all.

P.s. yes, he bleps when he sleeps. It's quite comical to see him in that state.

Is it a stray or pet? Stray mom cat at our home became too dependent too then we slacked her supply of cat food.
The large male cat yells thru windows and lies down if we don't pay attention but she used to act agitated and scratch at doors.

For past few weeks she now regularly kills rats and pigeons (good riddance) and feeds her kittens too. The kittens at just about 1.5 months old are expert meat eaters and know how to drag rats up a small wall into the garden and eat in natural shelter of trees. We still occasionally give them the cat food but they don't act agitated if we don't. It is a wonderful thing to see them act all hunter like!
If she's not pet try that, unlike dogs cats quickly adapt and find their own food.

The pup looks super cute!

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

Second of three kittens died today, hit by a vehicle when it ran out from underneath the gate. We didn't realize for some time and kept searching in all their favourite hiding spots.

It was only when I felt something amiss knowing her temperament I went on to the street and my worst fear came true.

The mom cat is since making call sounds and pacing restlessly. It's so heartbreaking. Having them around for past month, making cute chirping sounds, pushing things from platforms and suddenly its all stopped.

The remaining kitten is bewildered and holed up deep inside our Jeep's chassis.

Rest in peace, kiddo.

Such a handsome boy, I am a fan of the Bully Kutta. However it is not a breed for everyone, as they have temperament suited more for farm/large land track.

What are the other Sub Breeds of Bully Kutta? Also what is a Aseel Bully Kutta?

Thanks bro. I got him from some interior region of haryana, via some local contacts. Infact I got a brindle coloured female from a different line too. She is with a friend here, the guy has a female bullmastiff too and the pup has become bigger than her already, at only 8 months old !
Temperament wise he is pretty stable, bit suspicious but not overly aggressive towards strangers but quite aggressive towards other dogs. As a breed with a fighting heritage I guess that is expected.
