Skoda teases new electric 7-seater SUV
Skoda recently announced its financial results for the year 2024. Along with that, the carmaker also released teaser images of a new flagship electric SUV that will launch next year.
The new SUV will have a three-row layout and will be based on the Vision 7S concept that was revealed in 2022. The new SUV should be around the same size as the Kodiaq.
The three teaser images that were released show the front and rear of the SUV against a dark background, along with the D-pillar and bits of the tailgate. One can see T-shaped LED headlamps and taillamps, a roof spoiler and the rear wiper.
The new SUV is expected to be built on the MEB platform and could come with single and dual-motor powertrain options. The Skoda Vision 7S Concept featured an 89 kWh battery pack with a WLTP-rated range of 600 km.
Once it goes on sale, the new model could rival the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and the Kia EV9, as both are full-size electric SUVs.
Skoda delivered 926,600 vehicles to customers worldwide last year (+6.9%), with the Octavia remaining the brand’s bestseller (215,700 vehicles; +12.4%).
India saw the launch of the Skoda Kylaq compact SUV recently, and the brand is expecting to hit a sales target of 1,00,000 units by 2026 in the Indian market. Link to Team BHP news |
