Land Rover is all set to launch a whole range of EVs by 2026, the first of which will be the all-electric Range Rover, set to debut later this year. Apart from that, another model that the British car maker is working on is the electric Range Rover Velar. These are the first pictures of the EV during winter testing. The launch is expected to happen in early 2026.

The electric Velar will be the first EV to be built on Land Rover's new EMA electric vehicle architecture. The bigger Range Rover EV will use an electrified version of the MLA platform, which is also used in the ICE-powered Range Rover that will be sold alongside it.

Just like the ICE version, the electric Velar appears to have a very sporty stance as seen from these pictures. It has a low roofline with a tapering side window design.

Also, the positioning of the rear door relative to the rear wheel suggests that the electric Velar could get a third row of seats. The ICE model has only two rows.

Other design elements seen are the clamshell bonnet, large alloy wheels and flush door handles. However, the registration plate has moved from the tailgate to the rear bumper.

It remains to be seen what electric powertrain options will be offered with the Velar. Concrete info is expected closer to launch. The electric Velar is expected to rival the Porsche Macan EV when it goes on sale.
