Re: Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE6 vs Tata Curvv.EV vs MG Windsor vs Tata Nexon.EV vs others

Unlikely that I will buy any of these myself, but on paper seems that BE6 is the winner by a mile. I liked the fact that it has 500+ km of real world range, The highest power figures and in spite of looking bulky and weird, from all reports, seems to ride and handle really well. Concern is the amount of electronics packed into it. I was joking to a friend that it is the first time I am seeing the processor and hardware details listed in the specs of a car. So it is really a Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) and I expect it would take some time for all of the issues to settle down.

Edit: Kind of ironic that the MG ZV seems to be the most simple looking design now. Shows the level of quirkiness all the others have.

Re: Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE6 vs Tata Curvv.EV vs MG Windsor vs Tata Nexon.EV vs others

Since I can't yet vote, I would express my choice here.

My first preference would be Curvv.ev, it seems to be an overall good package barring the backseat comfort (this factor is not very critical for me)

Second option is Nexon.Ev(45 red dark edition) - the black and maroon/red combo is alluring and is a very good and proven car.

Dream Car - Curvv.ev in red dark edition and maybe free up the centre console a bit more to include cup holders!!!

Re: Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE6 vs Tata Curvv.EV vs MG Windsor vs Tata Nexon.EV vs others

Voted Nexon EV. Packs in most of what I need for a competent city EV, with some mid-distance highway runs being possible on the 45 kWh variants. The Fearless at just under 16L OTR is excellent value, and has a large enough gap to all the bigger options mentioned here.

Why I didn't vote for the others:
1. Creta Electric is a great option too. But at over 3.5L more than the Nexon, as a city runabout (and let's face it- that's what both will excel most at) it's a tad expensive for what it offers. Close call though.
2. BE6- the hottest new kid on the block. Jaw-dropping specs, but at a price. Voted against it because it may be too wide for our dainty Bangalore inner roads (and many other cities I'd imagine). If I spend my time worried about how the car will make it through some roads, I may not enjoy it as much. Comfort too doesn't seem to be all that great for a family of 4. Highway use is anyway limited.
3. Curvv EV- the Nexon is anyway 90% of the Curvv (except the 55kWh battery pack and the bigger boot. Cabin size seems comparable) for about 4-5L more. Nexon is more VFM.
4. Windsor- the range is simply too low when compared with other options. Will wait for the 50kWh option to reassess.
5. e-Vitara- looks cramped, but will wait till it's launched to make an assessment. They better price it well, assuming the 49kWh variant will start around the Nexon mid-variants and move up to Curvv territory for the 61.
6. MG ZS EV- have driven one quite extensively, and I like it. Just a bit dated and there's a new model coming out soon anyway, so can avoid till then.

Voted for the BE6. The sheer power it gives at that price is just unfathomable. RWD too, which would be way more fun to drive than any others on the list. Mini theater on wheels with Dolby Atmos tuning.

I voted for "Others" as Maruti e-Vitara is a strong contender because:

1. Reliable Range – Its power and torque output are optimized for efficiency, ensuring that the claimed 500 km range is realistic and achievable.

2. Design & Quality – The global yet conventional design gives it a modern yet enduring appeal, and the build quality appears superior to other Maruti products.

3. Unmatched Charging Network – Maruti's widespread service network across India, where they plan to set up charging stations, gives it a huge advantage over competitors.

4. Proven Reliability: While Mahindra’s EVs are feature-rich, their long-term reliability remains uncertain—especially with tech-heavy components. Maruti, on the other hand, benefits from Toyota’s engineering expertise, making it a safer bet for long-term ownership.

peace

Re: Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE6 vs Tata Curvv.EV vs MG Windsor vs Tata Nexon.EV vs others

I have a strong dislike towards the “coupe” SUV body style and the 6E and XEV 9e both stand out in the worst ways possible to me.

I personally have an opinion that these will age very poorly and once people see through the flashy specs and realize the car itself is very odd it might not be as popular down the road as it is right now. I might be absolutely wrong, but that’s what I think will happen. Polarizing designs always grab attention and generate a lot of hype, but once the initial batch of people who love the car get one, the buyer pool thins out. Just look at what’s happening to the Cybertruck.

The reality is that the boxy shape is what makes SUV’s practical space wise. The sloping roof doesn’t look good (again my own opinion) and robs you of headroom in the second row and tons of cargo space in the rear.

Given EV’s already have a slightly raised floor, a lowered roof line is just a big no-no for me. If I had to spend my money today, it’s 100% going to the Creta Electric.

It’s what you want in a daily driver, which in one word is: BORING.

It ticks all the right boxes and does nothing wrong. It won’t stand out and will fit right into your life. That’s a quality I absolutely think a lot of people will look for when making their own purchase decision.

I have voted for others. I am not ready to buy any of these cars as they have atleast one crucial drawback in my opinion. I am looking for a car with space of Windsor, the range of 6e and sorted BMS/electronics of Kona/EV3.

Re: Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE6 vs Tata Curvv.EV vs MG Windsor vs Tata Nexon.EV vs others

Have voted for the BE 6 inspite of having bought a Nexon EV 45 last month.

Primarily needed a second safe, not too big car, which could accommodate 100+ kgs me (the Punch EV couldn't) ,wherein the Nexon fit perfectly. The range that I get is about 330 which also is as expected.

The Curvv.EV, IMO, makes little sense at its current pricing. The Nexon is 90% there with more usable headroom. The under thigh support is similarly poor as the Nexon.

Coming to the BE6, it's an uber desirable car. Just that, didn't fit my requirements. Hence, didn't wait for it.

The XEV 9E, though, is hands down the ugliest car I've seen, in pics and real life alike.

It's interesting to note that this list also shows the evolution of EV reviews in Team-Bhp.
The XUV400 and MG ZS EV have the line "Needs a charging point installed at your home parking. This is not doable for many people" in the 'Cons' list.
But the latest reviews, like the BE6 and Creta EV ones, don't have it.

Voted for BE6. It's simply no contest with the Mahindra Twins. Between BE6 and XEV9E too I would pick the BE6.

I prepared this for BE6 vs Creta Electric. Hope it helps any of the prospective buyers.

Re: Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE6 vs Tata Curvv.EV vs MG Windsor vs Tata Nexon.EV vs others

I recently test-drove BE6e and it is fantastic in look, drive, and tech.

Shared my view here : https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/elect...ml#post5921042 (Mahindra BE 6 Review)

However, If I have to choose one option out of all these, I would prefer to go with Tata Curvv for the more practical and long-term companion.

Mainly for below reason.

Though subjective looks are good
Sorted ~500 Km actual range
In the market for quite some time with no major field failures
Suspensions are on the comfortable side
Comes with all the gizmos and ADAS
Good sound system (BE6e can be comparable here, no other contender otherwise)
The rear seat is comparatively far better than BE6e
Around 5L cheaper than BE6e

The BE6e is fun to drive but Curvv is perfect for a comfortable and laid-back journey home.

For Creta EV, in my opinion, Hyundai has brought it to the market just to show their presence in the EV. No offense to anyone.

Thanks

So many choices! Can anyone please help me narrow down the car with best rear seat for two? Excluding Windsor due to range.
With prices coming down and range improving, rear-seat comfort is the only concern with electric cars.

Re: Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE6 vs Tata Curvv.EV vs MG Windsor vs Tata Nexon.EV vs others

Voted for Creta as it comes across as no-none sense, practical everyday EV SUV. It is bit boring and there are things like visibly hanging battery which looks like a Jugaad. But this car has almost everything most users need and comes with promise of great fit and finish, usability/ergonomics, reliability and decent range/performance.

Voted for Creta Ev. The only problem with other contenders from tata & mahindra is that though the cars are feature rich and looks are premium however the electronics inside & outside (since it is an EV) are not sorted and you never know when any problem arises. Hyundai cars are generally trouble free and since Creta is an established brand and the pricing is pretty decent, it is Creta Ev for me.

I would vote for BE6, however my biggest problem with these EVs is it’s becoming increasingly wider for city/urban commute, so I would rather wait for a fuss free Tata punch sized EV for our commute
