Re: All Electric X1 launched in India

This is surprisingly well priced going by BMW and luxury car standards. Pricing also shows the impact of the 5% GST benefit for EVs.

On the other hand, this also shows how well Mahindra did with their XEV 9e and BE 6 launches. XEV 9e is way superior in every EV metric compared to this and is priced at almost half the price. No wonder, all these traditional companies are losing market share in the Chinese market.

Electric is now cheaper than both petrol and diesel. BMW X1 sDrive 18i M Sport and sDrive18d M Sport are priced at 50.80 lakhs 53.80 lakhs. The BMW IX1 e20L M sport is only 49 lakhs

Re: BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

X1 EV variant is the cheapest of the range, and also the most powerful. Makes the most sense too. 66kwh is a very practical and usable battery size. Torque figure is surprisingly limited, 250Nm is Nexon EV territory. Long wheelbase is the way to go for India . I never liked the X1, but this one will be my pick if I ever have to buy one.

Re: BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

The long wheelbase does not make it look ungainly it has quite the opposite effect. This new iX1-L is a good-looking car. BMW India has essentially neutered the ICE X1 with engines that can be at best described as asthmatic by comparison.

The EV has more power, a more spacious cabin, and is cheaper. While 250Nm does not sound like a lot (my old VAG 1.6 TDI made this much stock), one must factor in the fact that for electric cars, that much torque is available at the flick of a switch. The claimed range is not too bad either.

BMW India is betting big on this one. It's an "M-Sport" (whatever this means nowadays) offering for less than 50 lakh. If I were in the market, I'd wait until the next BMW discount season kicks in. Luxury EVs don't usually tend to fly off the shelves.

Re: BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

This was on the cards when I got my iX1 in October. This shares the motor with Mini Countryman Electric and is a CKD. This is low on power with torque figures, but gains on range and equipment.
Happy I got the CBU xDrive one with 300+ BHP and near 500Nm torque.

Re: BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Hi, I have seen BMW iX1 LWB briefly from outside as the Crossover was locked. From the layman eyes I can say that it still have knee up position at the back for anyone above 5ft 10 inches height. While 66kWh look good on papers but I don't think it will be able to give range of more than 350km (from 100% to10%).

From my eyes, BYD Sealion 7 is twice better overall package compared to iX1 LWB if launched around this price for Premium variant.

Re: BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

I used to admire BMW just because it was known for performance. But I don’t know what happened to them. We live in a world where Creta/Seltos is more powerful than ICE BMW X1. In EVs (iX1), these power figures are close to Electric Creta, Nexon and Curvv etc. Mahindra twins are way ahead. Why is BMW loosing its edge in performance?

In similar price point, BYD Sealion 7 Performance just has no competition. Is BYD the next BMW? Probably.

The range is likely to be around 400-450, depending on the conditions. With a single charging break, one should be able to cover 600-700 Kms.

The ix1 20 is a car slower from 0- 100 than my 11 year old diesel 3 series. But power doesnt get them sales numbers. My ix1 30 does the 0-100 in 5.6 second. But that model hardly sold.

I am guessing this launch can alone take care of their CAFE numbers. And if I am right, expect more 6/8 cylinder monsters from BMW on the other end of the spectrum.

Re: BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Saw the iX1-L at the showroom a day after the launch and was fairly impressed with the setup as a daily commuter. Thought the alloys looked a bit small but I guess you aren't looking at that or 0-100 numbers if you are going for a X1. BMW seems to be finally getting their pricing right. Will probably end up buying this if the Sealion7 is priced too high.

Re: BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Does it come with 2 motor set up?
Edit: Just checked, it is AWD. Incidentally with 0-100 kmph figure of 8.6 seconds, it is slower than Creta electric (7.9 seconds). But still a hugely desirable car.
