Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

Hi, thank you for the initial impression about the Creta EV. Major details are covered however, if you shared the pic of rear seat space for a 5ft 10inches tall person that would have been great.

I think Creta EV tick most of the boxes for the early adopters of EV (if priced well). I think it will be accepted well (most likely more than BE6 or XEV 9e). We can have debate on NMC battery, but we have not heard major issues with both NMC as well as LFP batteries, therefore, we can safely assume that NMC battery in Creta EV will serve users well for decade & a half.

With 51.4kWh battery pack, I think a minimum range of 300km (from 100% to 15%) even in harsh summer or winter is doable. Whereas people living in places where weather is good for the most parts of the year, a range of 350km (from 100% to 15%) can be achieved easily.

I think Hyundai managed to find another good product which is little more than Jack of All Trades.

I will be at Bharat Mobility Expo this Saturday to check it out and hopefully Hyundai give us a fantastic pricing of Creta EV tomorrow, starting with 14.50 lacs ex showroom for 42kWh battery pack base model to 21.49 lacs ex showroom for the top model of 51.4kWh battery pack.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

Nice, compact review!

The looks are catchy, hopefully the performance is too - I will give this advantage to Hyundai. That was what brought me to a car review here in a very long time, that too of an electric. As someone who isnt much interested in cars from the last 5 years, previous to that the 1st gen Creta and the 2018 Verna looks was something I quite fancied, they have brought back that element with the 2024 facelift of the Creta, making me atleast notice it on the roads, apart from the Germans and Mahindras. I had the opportunity to test drive a relatives Kia EV6 and it was bombastic, in terms of power and design, hopefully Hyundai can make their way there, hoping this launch starts that journey.

I might even test drive this out of curiosity once it comes out - EVs are not new to me, having dailied a E2O previously from 2016 to 2018 and apart from the instant torque, there was nothing special from 2019, not even the Nexon/Curvv EVs, or the MG ZS/Windsor which seems to be getting some good reviews.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

Very nice and detailed review. If this product does not help with faster adaptions to EV's in the country, I do not know what will. It is just a Creta. If this is not accepted, then transitioning to EV's will take ages.

Thank you for the wonderful review. One request, Is it possible to provide an image with a person seating on the rear bench. This will show information on how much knee-up a person will be seating. Will it be possible.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

So all I need to do is to get a better audio system replacement for the crappy bose system that's there by default.

If they price is similar to the ex-showroom of SX(O) top variant, that's around 21L ex-showroom, this could sell pretty well in the Indian market.

Given they are also coming with a OTA that will give access to 100kW charging later in the year.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

Fantastic review as always and another fantastic car from Hyundai. I quite like the exterior. It's well proportionate, don't have excessive cuts and creases, easy on the eye or rather very pleasant to look at, especially in this Ocean Blue Dual Tone. Very understated yet classic, bodes well with the traffic. Many people like that.

I was quite skeptical about rear seat space and under thigh support considering the fact that they have increased GC by 10mm to now 200mm. In addition to that, battery pack eats up lot of floor space in a vehicle that was not built on an exclusive EV architecture. But I guess it will be accomodable for an average sized indian family. Will have to test that in person.

About the range, Although I would have loved a real world range of 400+km for Pune-Mumbai intercity shuttle, 375km real world is not that bad. Once you master the art of regen, that range can even be extended plus you won't be needing your brakes that much unless for a sudden stop on highway. That goes for all EV. Regen braking is so addictive once you get hang of it.

I hope they price the Excellence variant at around 25L OTR which is what they are charging for Top End Diesel AT Creta OTR or am I being too optimistic!!

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

It can’t be long before they replace the super slow charging battery with technology from this, ahem, decade. With this battery this is a Windsor segment car with a prestigious Creta badge.

The mainstream battery cells nowadays support at least “2C” charging, allowing for 20-30 minute charging stops in line with a typical highway refreshment break. Moreover these cells will soon give way to faster charging ones, which are making their way down from high end cars to the budget segment. Meanwhile, Hyundai has ended up with their mainstream flagship Creta sporting “1C” cells. Clearly they’re hoping Indian buyers won’t notice.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

As per Autocar India , the real world range is 426 km which is very impressive. Much more than MG ZS EV & comparable to 60 kwh BYD Atto 3

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

Regardless of battery type/charging speed/range/space/looks et al, what stands out is no glaring niggles or issues with the car. Been watching a few YT videos and there is none, which should be commendable - something our local players Tata and Mahindra should learn from these Koreans whose cars are usually plagued with many initial headaches and glitches.

Hi, whatever Autocar India say, extracting more than 7.5km/kWh is very, very difficult. My gut feeling is average person will get 7.3km/kWh in city and 6.9km/kWh on highway.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

A good all rounded car indeed. Given that they have used a lot of component from their global parts bin. It will be a sorted car.

My challenges with
1. Ground clearance is 200 mm but the lowest thing in the car is battery.
2. The wire are covered but the battery is visible from the side
3. Wireless android auto and apple car play to come at a later date
4. 100 KW charging speeds to come as upgrade in H2-2025.

Future promised features are always a problem as the OEM just keeps lingering on with it.

Finally the last point is what I am most miffed about. Charging speed should have been there from day 1 that is the core advantage of an NMC battery. The biggest two things in an electric car are range and charging speed. They gave a 51 KW battery to address the range but handicapped it with abysmal charging speed of 10-80% in 58 mins.

Coming to price - this has a smaller battery than Curvv and BE6, it needs to be priced very competitively.

The team-bhp review itself says that achieving 7.5 km/kWh is not difficult.

"I covered ~170 km and used up 47% of the battery. However, my driving consisted of some aggressive acceleration, fast driving, hard braking and long idling periods. At the end of the drive, I had an indicated 171 km of range left. I am sure that with better driving, one can manage at least 375 km in real-world driving conditions."

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

Looks like the spec sheet and everything except price is out.

Got the following from a whatsapp group

Specification sheet :

To simplify and better understanding, worked upon this :2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review-creta-ev-spec-sheet.png

All the features are reserved for top trim (360 camera, leather seats, ventilated seats, memory seats, power passenger seats, Digital key etc.)

Considering the offerings from Curvv (Creative 45 @ 17.49 L, 430 km range) and Nexon.ev 45 (@ 16.99, 489 km range), both includes V2V (~ 10-15k) & 7.2 kW AC wallbox Fast charger (~ 50-60k) which Creta EV misses even in top trim,
Smart should be priced ~ 16.49L (logic : Curvv 17.49 - 50k - 15 k - flush door handles, range etc.)

Anything more than 16.49 - 16.75, i will personally go for Nexon Empowered+ 45 or Curvv Creative 45.

For top trim, Creta ev 51kWh Excellence strong points :
+ Digital key
+ Dual Zone AC (vs FATC)
+ 11kW OBC charger (vs 7.2 kW)
+ Driver seat 8 way powered (vs 6 way powered)
+ Passenger 8 way powered (vs manual)
+ Driver memory seats
+ in cabin V2L

Curvv 55 kw Empowered+ A strong points :
+ Better range : 502 km (vs 473 km)
+ Faster charging by ~1.5X : 40 mins (vs 58 mins)
+ Powered tailgate with gesture activation
+ V2V charging
+ R18 alloys
+ 7.2 kW AC wallbox Fast charger included (vs non)
+ Animation - goodbye, welcome, charging
+ Arcade app store in infotainment
+ 12.3" infotainment (vs 10.25")
+ Flush door handles
+ bigger boot : 500 litre (vs 433 litre)
+ JBL 9 speaker system (vs BOSE 8 speakers)
+ LED fog lamps
+ Multi color ambient light including in Sunroof (vs just blue)

Looks like the Curvv 55 top trim @ 21.99L is more loaded.

Hyundai should price the top trim @ 20.99 (<21L) considering the missing equipment list and not to forget, i need to pay additional price to get the AC fast charger vs Tata giving it with trim as standard.

Creta top @ 21L will be good value.
Anything more, Curvv top will be a better choice.

Not to forget, mass favorite Windsor EV is coming with 51-53kWh battery pack in Feb'25.

Checked with some dealers and people who are connected with KIA (and hence Hyundai ), Hyundai claim of 100kW DC fast charging @ H2 2025 actually means Diwali season. That is good 9 months away from launch.

Must give it to Hyundai this time for giving charging rate comparable to Nexon 2020 at the launch in 2025 (0.8C- 1C), vs Mahindra going ~ 2C and Tata 1.2 C.

Going by the following news ( https://www.rushlane.com/hyundai-cre...-12515915.html),
Hyundai should price it ~ 16.49 - ~ 21L to be competitive

Overall great time for us customers this year, Creta EV, Windsor 55, BE 6E pack 1 & 2 all in similar package.

How is it turned ON? Through the infotainment system controls? or is there a separate switch? Although this is more convenient, I think the boot is a better place for the outlet, especially for people who travel with kids (I'm guessing Hyundai took care of the usual worries like spills and the socket turns off automatically).

Came across this video in which they did a 100%-0% battery test/range run of the 51.4KWh version and this gave a range of 400+ km on a primary highway run. Sharing the link below
