Looking at all the Defenders running about with exposed rear axle assembly, don't think TATA would be in a hurry to cover it up.

At least hope the EV one won't have that protruding thing in the underbody near the front axle that every Harrier/Safari has.

Even if we discount the last 20% charging at 3.3kw the car seems to pull at peak of 100kwh above DC speeds
The test drivers might not exactly be soft pedalling the car. Range is on the lower side but if it’s awd with the projected 350plus bhp, it is OK. Also I do not expect the Mahindra’s to go further than 450km either, unless you drive with real restraint. The projected 435 km was never achieved with my Nexon 40kW. 230 if you drive normally and 270kms when you drive slower. Those getting 300km plus must all drive really carefully.

Lastest model Nexons are going above 300 kms on soft pedal driving on regen 2 levels. Mine is too an older gen EV MAX which I am able to extract 260-270 max. ARAI Projected range for Harrier will be in the range of 600+ so Ideal mileage we can get is 460-480 as per my calculation. Vivek Srivatsav has quoted to the Business Standard interview that Harrier will have a battery pack of 60KWh and Mid 70s, that means 75KWh. Sierra will have a slightly smaller battery pack and slightly lower range than the Harrier. That should give a hint that it will be a 55KWh and 70KWh battery packs.

I don't mind a bit of a skin show.

Just like on this, seems to be a design traits of the inherited platform.

Oh yeah. Now we’re talking. As long as it doesn’t get the air suspension and has good old springs and dampers.

Well, it is good to show some skin if it is a sporty off-roader but in this case, it may not look so good especially if you compare it with the ongoing harrier.

This is exactly what I was referring to. It may look sporty here but not in Harrier IMHO.

Their 500+ quoted is real world. The ARAI and MIDC 1 + 2 cycle quoted numbers are way higher. If you go by the journo reviews, 500+ is easily achievable on the Mahindra's. Since Kia EV6 with a 77.xx battery managed a 502 Km on the Zigwheels drive to death ( which was pretty nasty!), pretty sure the Mahindra's with 79 should manage better.

It’s acti.ev plus platform. I think it’s easy to do an AWD in an EV than ICE. Modern EV platforms allow them to mount the electric motor on either front & rear or both axles.

I think Tata should seriously think about a front motor disconnect feature on AWD variants just like in Jeep Wagoneer EV based on the drive modes. Please refer video from 50:40

Also Tata calls it QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) instead of AWD/4WD

Re: Scoop! Tata Harrier.ev to get 75 kWh battery & AWD

Our friendly neighbourhood AutoSpy was up close with the Harrier EV test mule yesterday. According to him, it had big orange cables running under the body and when he was really close to the test mule, he could hear the engine bay giving out a hissing sound. It seemed to be equipped with AWD as well.

also notice the harrier emblem offset to the left to make space for the EV lettering
