BMW M - the performance division of the German carmaker, has released the first set of official photos of the pure-electric version of its upcoming next-generation M3 sedan.

The photos of the upcoming BMW M3 electric, feature the prototype version of the sedan covered entirely in camouflage. However, the photos clearly showcase the brand's Neue Klasse design language, albeit with certain changes, including wider wheel arches and deeper side skirts.

The prototype version is internally referred to as "M HP BEV". It is expected to be powered by a quad-motor powertrain, as indicated by the graphics around the four-wheel arches. Based on a recent trademark filing, BMW is expected to call the electric sedan, the "iM3". BMW is expected to unveil the all-electric M3 in 2026, prior to going on sale in the international market sometime in 2027.
