I have the first BE6 in my city AFAIK. It does have a couple of niggles but there is strong assurance and enthusiasm from the dealership to fix them. Later it might die down because it becomes a norm but to avoid the feedback they absolutely want to do their best.

Initial niggles aren't a bad thing especially when you're an early adopter

I feel jealous of you. I didn't get any allocation in first lot because of black color. The dealer got only one black BE6 and that went to another buyer who booked before me . My SA told me today if I want white or desert myst I can get it within 3-4 days, but I want my black car so not happening before April mid.

Which charger did you get? And how did you get sanctioned load sorted with BESCOM being super corrupt?

Hi, if its sireesh auto, please share the SA number so that I could atleast opt for white instead of waiting for satin white. There was a desert mist for which I declined.
Thank you.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

I have one more question that I cant seem to find the answer to.
As much as I love the design of the Be6, i don't like the scrolling text animation on the tail lights. Is this something that can be customized via the settings menus or at the least turned off?
I still haven't managed to figure out the dashcam functionality and have decided to carry my Red Tiger f17 3 channel one i removed from my previous car and carry to the dealership for the scheduled delivery on 30th. Hopefully I can get it installed as I think it's an absolute necessity for any car owner.

Also, despite the scheduled delivery and completion of registrationand other formalities, I am yet to receive any call from the charger team. I am in no hurry as I do have a 11kw charger at my work premises from Bolt.Earth but a call would be reassuring.

Also, Bolt.Earth hasn't yet listed the Mahindra twins on their app, same as Tata Ez charge and few others.I got in touch with their customer support regarding it, and they have assured me that it will be done soon based on my request and until then to just charge the car by using any other car listed on the app. I am not sure if that is a good idea as this is my first EV. Looking for advice regarding this as this would be my go to charger from the day of delivery until OEM installation at my home.

There's a setting under Vehicle >> Exterior >> Lights, which has a toggle for "welcome and goodbye animation LED".

Thank you.
Unfortunately it's India Garage. IMO Satin white looks good. Gloss white for any car gives too much taxi vibes.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

Hi guys, since Delhi’s EV policy is also being revoked by April’25 (which makes the car really out of budget for our family) does anyone know how to purchase the car from UP (Noida) and get it registered in Delhi? Since the registration cost will be lower post the new FY.

Hi even though the policy is revoked I guess new government is continuing with 0 RTO Tax for EV's and the 15 year rule also doesn't apply

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

After complaining to Mahindra, my dealer is finally allowing delivery without charger. I hope to get my car on Saturday.

Did anyone else get one without a charger, and how is the 3.3kw charging experience?

I didn't get it without charger, but thanks to MSEDCL not having installed my ECVS meter yet, I am using the portable charger at home.

I charged overnight the other day. 13hr 43min = 35% charged. So with some basic calculation, a full charge would take 35 hours.

Thank you for the info.

Given the battery pack is 79 kWh, if it takes 35 hours to charge then the real charging speed is around 2kWh. That seems much lower, only 60ish% of the rated 3.3.

Does the portable charger have a specs label on it? Could there by any limiting factor on your electrical source?

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

Small update on range:

Since delivery, First time today drove the vehicle on a long route.
Covered around 220 km with mix city and highway running, reaching speeds of around 110-120 multiple times.

Reaching home, battery balance is a nice 52% (started at 100%). 220 km covered in approx 48% usage, so as per calculations total range would come around 460 km.

Now good thing about this is that I am driving an ev for the first time, so i drove it just like an ICE car with no precaution towards better range and at minimum regen.
The app shows my trip eco score as 83.

As per the views of other members here about Range being very sensitive to driving style of an EV, I am quite hopeful that with slight tweaking in regen levels and driving style,
I would be able to get the promised 500 km of range even at occasional speeds of 110-120s with mix city highway usage.

Between the 2 cars is totally your choice. The updates are small ones and are being done easily, so should not be a concern. I think you can go ahead if you're planning BE 6.

My better half prefers the XEV 9 for its Nebula Blue color and spacious interior compared to the BE 6. However, since we mostly travel with our pet dog, maintaining the interior is a big concern, so we're still confused.

I will see if the portable charger has specs printed on it, but 3.3kW is theoretical max power. IRL accounting for transmission and conversion losses it comes out to around 2.6-2.7kW.

My existing connection is rated 6kW, so i have the margin.

We discussed this on our EV owners group and the consensus is that it won't actually charge at the full 3.3kW. It will charge at a lower rate considering the aforementioned factors.
