I feel it will be that one color that ages very bad & becomes an irritant over time. Looks cartoonish in my opinion & is definetly not for me.

My opinion on the different shades:

I felt the Tango red was actually good along with the piano black finish. Its a dark (Almost maroon shade of red)

Was super excited to see the green, and got a glimpse of it on the XeV9e but I was not impressed. It didnt look like a metallic shade like seen on the seltos or compass.

Black looks good but it does feel like it diminishes the overall size of the car, making it look a bit smaller becuase now the piano black bits blend in. Also like I previosuly mentioned, the sharp lines sort of disappear. I even failed to notice the cool Aero bits on the frunk area because it blends in. The highlight of the black is that all the lights disappears when off because they are all blacked out & it looks really cool.

Also if you are considering the Orange, Do see it in person once rather than just in images before making your choice.
Yes, did a test drive and the car was orange. My father and I loved it. So I guess orange it is for us then

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

The weird part is in Karnataka there is a road tax of 10% for vehicles above 25L and the charger price has been included in the Ex showroom price. This in affect means you pay additional TCS and road tax on the charger. That is quite ridiculus, I sent an email to the Mahindra customer care complaining about this and they just pointed to the sales person of the dealer with no answer to my question.
This is not giving a good image of Mahindra in front of customers, I am sure many others would have sent such a request. They should provide the option to the customer to buy the chargers seperately as accessory. As mentioned by many in the posts, a lot of people might not have the option to install the 7 or 11kw chargers at home or apartment due to public distibution company constraints.

For the uninitiated, the orange could be mistaken for a baby Italian supercar. I did't want to commit blasphemy by calling out the name

I have sent a mail to Mahindra Customer support and they just re-directed it to the Sales head of the dealer and i have not got any response from him. The showroom guys keep calling me to book the vehicle. I am from bangalore and the ridiculous part is that the charger price is added and shown as the Ex showroom price. I need to pay the TCS and the Road tax of 10% on top of this amount. Effectively I am paying the road tax for the charger as well which does not make any sense. I have not yet given the Cheque to them for the booking, they are saying the option will be there when the actual booking starts on 14th Feb, but i have my doubts on that and have asked for the confirmation over email. Also the chargers are way overpriced almost 50% more, you can get the Exicom 11KW Smart Spin Air EV charger on Amazon for 39.5K which inclues Bluetooth, 4G & Wi-Fi connectivity, control via App or RFid.

Quite true. For people who are in Karnataka, and considering the BE6 P3 Select, they would have to essential get the 7.2 kw charger only, as getting the 11kw one would make the ex-showroom price north of 25L.

It is even worse for those considering the 9e's Pack Two, as even the 7.2 kw charger makes the prices go north of 25L, thus breaching the tax relief limit.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

For the BE6- don't think Pack One Above makes much sense. and Pack 3 Select 59 is a bit on the higher side as well. I'd either pick the base Pack One if I'm on a budget, Pack 2 if I need some of the more premium features, or just go for the full-fat Pack 3 79kWh with the bells, whistles and the kitchen sink.

Go for it. It definitely stands out in the crowd.
In my case , my entire family sways towards more subtle colours. And the be6 has a "strong" design already that makes it stand out. So a bright neon color is definitely off the table. That's why I've been debating between black, white and green..finally picking satin white.

Now I am curious how satin finish would be handled by my PPF guys in bangalore. I hope they keep stock of the satin ppf material. Also curious how the BE6 would handle ppf over its radar sensors on the sides because its not very obvious where they are placed. I know some German cars sort of freak out when they have some ppf over their sensors, especially over the ultrasonic sensors until they are cut out post the drying phase.

I think this has been fixed by the dealers now. The old price chart shared had the charger included in ex showroom price.

The new "official" tariff shared by my SA in Bangalore shows price of top varient as 26.90L aligning with the announcement made by Mahindra.

So it will be 26.90L + insurance +10% road tax + misc(fasttag and loan hypothecation charges) + charger+5% Gst on charger

The difference between Pack 3 Select and full Pack 3 is not just 2.4L, but 5.1L in Karnataka (including 10% road tax), so that's quite a steep jump.

Unfortunate the kind of pricing that Mahindra has done here, they should have thought about this. Why pay road tax and TCS on charger? it should be sold seperately.
I hope enough people make noise about this and they reconsider this at the time of booking. Folks in similar situation wanting to book the Pack3 option in BE6 or XEV9e please send your feedback on this to the Mahindra customer care email: customercare@mahindra.com. I hope common sense prevails and they provide the charger as an after sale accessory with enough such requests.

Ohh ok, I was not aware of this I spoke with India Garage and they were still quoting the price with charger. Which dealer is this? Can you share the price list here.

In my family too, apart from me and my dad, everybody is critical for this colour. But we are not giving up.

As for the PPF part, I think more experienced detailers (those who frequently PPF expensive cars) would be a more suitable choice.

Also how does satin look when compared to gloss and matte?

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

I am baffled by the sheer stupidity of their naming convention. First, the 6E to BE 6 nonsense, then the XEV 9E or whatever they are calling it, where is the uniformity? Is it so hard to change the established name XUV to XEV and just use numbers like the Germans, I think that is what they are trying to go for here, but needlessly adding on random alphabets around the number.

Even a bigger facepalm in my opinion, is their newly introduced ‘One Above’ and ‘Three Select’ variants, esentially making their clear variant distinctions according to their numbers One, Two and Three meaningless.

Are they so shortsighted that they could not decide uppn the number of packs they are willing to offer, that they have to change that before the deliveries even start.

Ahhh I can keep ranting about this, their stupid website which is unusable on iPad, their Mahindra EV website is downright unusable on iPad, and even on iPhone atleast, the website keeps bugging out and scrolling on its own.

Stupid stuff like this make me question how good their software be, if they cannot even make sure that the first impression of their vehicle for a potential buyer, their main freaking website, is so buggy and buggy.

Thus after much frustration, one has to go to third party media websites riddled with ads to learn about this new awesome car the brand wants you to spend so much money on.

Smh, I know I may have went a little offtopic on this, but I needed to rant about this, I plan on making a full post about the awful state of car manufacturer websites soon, thanks.

Yeah. I do have a experienced ppf installer I have worked with before. But its the availability of the satin ppf that i doubt.

I'd say the satin is somewhere between gloss and matte. It's not completely matte but its not as reflective as glossy surface. Side by side if chose the satin any day especially with the white. I'd say the satin had an almost "soft touch" feel to it. Just reflecting enough to give it that subtle sheen.

Correct, but even with that inflated price, you get the one thing that'll prevent you from selling off your car prematurely- a big fat battery pack. The Pack 3 59 is a bunch of fancy gizmos without the go, hence doesn't make sense to me. Pack 2 with the skyroof, dolby surround sound etc also sounds tempting. But in reality, the 2 best variants have to be Pack One 59 and Pack Three 79. The former for being affordable, the latter for having everything. Everything in between is a compromise.
