Wait, is this possible to do? You can just return a car and get a new one?

I think after registration you must have to take quite a loss, no?

It wasn't registered. Dad knew the owner of the dealership, so we got a TC registered car. It wasn't meant to be a trial, but Dad didn't like the ingress and egress at all due to back issues. So we upgraded to a white XEV. Now he is very happy.

Ahh, makes sense. Lucky you!

I think BE6 is just not meant for families with more than 2 adults. The target market is couple use + maybe kids for the back seat.

The rear seat experience in the 6 is claustrophobic due to the all black interiors if the moonroof is closed.
As for the knees up position, it depends on who will occupy the rear seat. If they are less than 5' 10" , mostly they will be fairly comfortable.

The 6 is primarily a car designed around the front seats, albeit with a difficult ingress and egress.
It's mostly me and my wife that's going to use it. Our parents will travel with us in the back seats occasionally when we travel to our natives. My height is 5'9" and my wife is at 5'8". Even with ingress and egress issues we felt comfortable in front seats and we have some small lanes where we have to navigate in our natives. XEV 9e would be a little big to maneuver there (BE6 could cause issues too to some extent). Parents are shorter than us and they said they were comfortable in the back seat but the seating position felt quite different because of the high floor.
So, I just wanted to know if anyone had long rides with family in back seats and how was the experience?

For an average built family of 4, BE6 will work very well is my feeling (2 adults and 2 parents). BE6 is targetted at young people and couples and should do well for them till the family becomes big enough for a car change in may be 10 years or so.

BE6 in all frankness is a buzz car. It was never meant to sell cause it is a drivers car, against the demographics of India that demand family vehicle. What it did was create Buzz on social media to catch the attention of normal people and do positive PR of the capabilities Mahindra has.

Result, cars worth 30 lakhs are selling like hot cakes. (for now)

Depends on the heights I think. When we did a long test drive on it, we drove with another couple.

I’m 177cm (around 5’10”) and the other guy was slightly shorter around 5’8”. This combination worked well enough. But if the other guy was 6feet+ then he would not be that comfortable on the back seat.

Since you’re around my height and I’m assuming your parents are probably 5’7” or shorter I think it should be perfectly okay. The bigger issue would be ingress and egress since the floor is high and roof is low.

IMO we need more risk taking cars in India. Literally every car is a family car in India unless you go to 80+ lakhs. We need more variety, and people also shouldn’t consider not being family friendly as a con. There are literally 100 cars which are family friendly.

India is the only country which doesn’t get hot hatches like the i20N, i30N, Golf R etc.

Exactly that is my case. Me (5'9") and My wife (5'8") will be the major travelers in the car while my parents of heights 5'7" and 5'2" would be the ones to sit in the back once in a while. We felt it was comfortable during the short test drives and parents were happy with the seat at that time.

Ingress and Egress - yes, they are a little problematic but how many times in a day do you keep getting in and out of the car. the insides of the car should be roomy and comfortable and that's the main requirement.

BE6 is giving me me the sporty feel i would love to have in my car. Has great performance. Many features. Damn good NVH levels. The seat felt good for ourselves.

Only point is the long drives. Since the floor is high, was it good enough even in long runs? how was the feel when experienced in real life is what i wanted to know.

If and a big if the seats feels not good enough i was thinking of doing a modification to back seat. Either ask the local sofa makers to create a extension that's attachable and removeable or worse case, modification of the seats.

We did slightly longer than an hour and the seats were fairly comfortable. I think owners who have done longer drives will be able to tell more.

I don't think it's that big of an issue. The legroom is actually quite nice, so you can stretch your legs below the front seats.

Finally got my Satin White BE6 delivered yesterday. It was disheartening to see how the entire front console was removed to fix the issue [which is still a secret].

However, everything seems to be working fine now and i have decided to not let that hamper my ownership experience.

It is an absolute delight to drive So much to explore in terms of features.

Something im still trying to figure is how to get to home screen and access other apps when android auto is connected. It simply refused to leave the android auto screen.

Also, in my case any changes in settings to ambient lights / radio / V8 sonic sound etc would not get saved and would go back to factory setting upon restarting the car.

Congrats on your BE6. Wishing you countless more joyful miles ahead!

What’s the manufacturing month of your vehicle?

As an early adopter who trusted Mahindra, it’s disheartening to see how they’re handling things.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

Hi Folks,

I am at a junction and have to decide on the Be6 Pack1 as my budget is <20 Lakhs.

I have gone through some videos on YT to understand full range tests optics (in city/on highways etc) where the car is being driven at 90+ kmph and it is yielding an efficiency of 4.5 - 6 km/KWh.

All I understand from specs sheet is the BE6 motor output is big in comparison with all other models in this class like Curvv/Creta/ZS which are on an average above 7+ km/KWh. This will place the vehicle in a performance segment rather than a regular commuter.

With Pack 1, I am assuming better efficiency because of lesser weight due to smaller battery and smaller motor.

My use cases would be everyday home to office and maybe an occasional long drive not exceeding 250 km in one day.

May I request for some inputs from seasoned folks as this will be second car post mahindra E2o?

Thanks, mine is a February manufactured.

It's a risk we early adopters have willingly taken. In my opinion the mechanicals and fit and finish feel great. The only concern seems to be with the software which i believe can be corrected over time.

IMO it's best to not get carried away with these range tests on YT from non seasoned reviewers who have very little EV experience. There are tests which have also shown 490km range on XEV 9E from gaadiwaadi, indicating 510ish from BE6 he will be able to achieve. And he was driving 80-90kmph:

The same person achieved 403km on Creta EV and 502km on BYD Sealion to give context. So I don't think the range is essentially worse compared to other cars of similar size and battery, and better than cars with smaller batteries.

The range will heavily depend on how you drive and your max speed. Also cruise control at 100kmph will give much better range than constant acceleration and deceleration which will deplete range.

Best to wait for comparisons from seasoned testing like autocar before making any conclusions. Till now I haven't seen any bad case range where the driver wasn't driving rashly with constant insane accelerations.

Congratulations.
Even mine is a satin white.
You need to long press the home button near the rotary dial to come out of android auto
Ambient light stays in my car.
Radio or Ghana app always pops up while starting, this has to be updated.
Each time you start after a long time, you need to select sonic sound. Dosent get saved.
