Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

Hi all, has anybody here heard of or received any message for replacement of "AC motor". Little clarification on what exactly it meant but i was told my vehicle which was pending delivery for software update has now gone in for motor replacement which was suggested by Mahindra for initial lot of BE6 cars. Since mine has not yet been handed over they have asked for 1 additional day to complete the same to avoid bringing back the car at a later date.

But as I see they are loading the charger in my car now. I wonder how this works. Do they really do the refund and do I have to return it now or later. Please advice ASAP
I didn't want the charger as I'm staying in a rented house now.
They said they will bill the charger and give it to me now. But in future orders of theirs, they wont order chargers and will adjust mine with others orders. Said they will give me my money back once they adjust my charger to others orders. Each dealer is promising different things and nothing is clear or transparent.
I don't have much trust that they would that. I will try to see if they are going to do it. If they wont i will just try to get it installed in my native where we have our own house. I wont go there very regularly but that's the only option for me.

This is news to me. Didn't hear this news before. Initially they didn't give me my car saying they aren't getting clearance from Mahindra. Then they said they need to update some code in Key Fobs and that they ordered new ones and are waiting for them. New reason every time from each dealer.

Another tip to all new owners:

Please enable Key-fob parking and phone-app parking from the car.

Go the the park assist app. Bottom right corner 3 dots >> click the gear shaped icon.

You'll see the below settings. Enable both.

There's also a parking assist AEB setting down below, IMO should be enabled.

Hi guys,
Got the delivery of my satin white beauty at 4pm today. Awesome looking car.
Every thing works like a charm. Just one or two glitches I guess. They are-
1. When the car is charging the green illuminated display near the charger plug dosent work but the car was charging fine.

Sorry, wrongly pressed the quick reply button.

Yea, I mean to say the charging point of the car dosent illuminate while charging
2. Drove back to mysore after taking delivery from bangalore. Can anybody tell me if I can use just the normal cruise control instead of the adaptive cruise control which was a pain using in high highway traffic.
3. Not able to use keyfob autopark. By pressing the star button, the car unlocks but dosent move forward or backward. Do I have to activate something.

Really loved the car to the core, it's an attention grabber.

Music always starts without any input, this was annoying.

Overall, well done mahindra

Can you please elaborate or give a step by step guide to enable key fob parking.
Also I couldn't find the park assist app.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

I wish mahindra removes the default radio turning on on startup feature and just let us connect to the last connected media output.

It's genuinely annoying.

I was hoping when I upgrade my car from the XL6 I could escape this annoying setup. Just curious, does every car in India default to this radio turning on?

Manually switching every time to bluetooth after the radio blasts in almost full volume is annoying.

I know mahindra reads this forum, please send us an update correcting this

I have an Astor and that also defaults to Radio. However, it has an option of choosing between FM/AM/DRM. Choosing DRM keeps it muted without the radio static so that works well. I'm not sure if there's a similar option in BE6 since I'm still waiting for the allocation :/

20% of usable 76kwh battery capacity is ~ 15kwh. There is no way A/C and other systems would consume that sort of energy in that amount of time. The regen does not even matter if it was crawling traffic. Camp mode in my Model Y Performance, which keeps the A/C running, consumes around 8-10% overnight.

The car's manual explicitly says to charge to 100% when you can.
They should be charged to 100% once a week to ensure the cells are balanced and the car can report battery percentage accurately. In saying that you should not be keeping the battery over 80% for long periods of time if the car is not being driven.

Top up the battery to 80% after the drive and charge up to 100% once a week or so should work fine.

There is a park assist app in the car system's app drawer. Alternatively, you can click the second from right button on the overhead switch array.

Post that, you can follow the steps I mentioned in my previous post.

I'm curious. For me it doesn't? It automatically resumes whatever I was using the last time. I use Gaana for audio streaming at the moment, and it comfortably resumes that instead of radio. Additionally, it does store the last volume setting. So I lower the volume before turning the car off, and it maintains that volume level when I turn it on the next time.

Did you get your vehicle delivered? I’ve been told next week, same old software update excuse. It’s been sitting in the stockyard for almost 20 days! I even emailed Mahindra, but the dealer just called saying to wait one more week.

This is a March-manufactured vehicle, yet.

Mine started working thanks to this. I could move the car forward and back using keyfob but the option to park via keyfob and mobile was blacked out. Sorted now. Thank you.

Have you noticed that sometimes when playing music on the gaana app, it continues to play even after turning the car off and locking the car using keyfob. The only way I managed to stop it was by turning the car back on and off. It doesn't happen always.

Also on another note.
My eyedentity system definitely does not work. Ive tried every possible thing ( in the safety of my closed off coffee drying yard) including using a phone to take calls and putting the phone in front of my face like im shooting videos, pretending to be asleep on the wheel, being distracted and not looking at the road etc. Nothing seems to trigger the warning. Anyone know any trick to get this system to work.

Thank you, the car front and back with keyfob started working.
Even after enabling autopark with keyfob, parking with keyfob does not work. Any suggestions please

It works on speeds above 30-40 kmph. Also it will give a warning on the driver instrument cluster. It doesn’t have audio warning. Not sure if audio warning was there in Mahindra BEVs or BYD Sealion 7

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

For people who already got BE6.
How has been the rear seat for long journeys?
What's your experience?

Our family briefly had the BE before we upgraded to the XEV.

The rear seat experience in the 6 is claustrophobic due to the all black interiors if the moonroof is closed.
As for the knees up position, it depends on who will occupy the rear seat. If they are less than 5' 10" , mostly they will be fairly comfortable.

The 6 is primarily a car designed around the front seats, albeit with a difficult ingress and egress.
