The smaller 59kWh pack is adequate and will be agreeable to a 3.3 kW portable charger.
I realised this pretty early and brought home the ravishing Atto 3 Dynamic uses hardly 40-50% in a week and charges overnight every Saturday.

In last 5 months only twice did I charge the car on a weekday. Now the big Q.. range. I can extend my range dramatically to 450km+ (from current 390-410) by driving in cruising manner.

Always thought the public charger installed in my society would be back up... But don't think I will ever use it.

Loving my ev trip every bit on this superb subtle beast

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

Addendum to me previous post about charging:

The car ships with a charging limit set to 80% by default.

The moment you take delivery of your car, change this to 100%.

You can do that by going to the "Energy" app in the console, and setting the green line to the right most position which is 100%.

Also set charging current to "High" for most use cases, unless you are limited by the load rating of the plug or something similar.

The screen going blank happend to my be6 twice after driving off the dealership at irregular intervals over a span of 5 days. But I was informed that a software update was pending on my car, and on completion of the update that issue hasn't occurred again. I was informed by the technicians team that the screen blank issue was only because sometimes the car got too many apps on in the background and was resetting to flush the system. So I'm assuming it was a cache memory issue that has been resolved in the final update.

Ah. That might be the case with the N-1 software version perhaps.

I think the console system is running Android.
And Android does kinda flush itself when the background apps get worked up.

I don't recall anyone from our current set of owners having seen this issue.

Could you also confirm if "service mode" is turned on at the time of delivery? From what I've read service mode disables all cloud features which might be a reason why people are struggling with the app and other remote functions.

TBH I don't remember what it was at the time of delivery.
I got one update after delivery as well, and post that I don't remember that setting being enabled. (i.e. car is not in service mode)

So far seems to be a one off issue. I got my car fully updated from the dealership. The car seems to be up to date

I plan to use commercial charging stations to charge the car. The idea is to DC fast charge the car routinely interspersed with 7.2kW AC charging.
Hi,
Sorry for being a bummer, but I really think you should stop this thought right here. Unless, you have an option of charging the car at your office. IMO, one should consider an EV only when you have a fixed charger at either end of your commutes.

For reference, I've a Nexon EV 45 which gets charged at my dad's office. (Haven't installed home charger since on rent). However, it's a DC fast charger. The car should have at least 1 slow charge after 4 DC fast charges.

The 4 fast charges were done, but finding a SLOW charger which was working AND not occupied was a royal pain, even in Mumbai. I went through 3 places to find one, eventually gave up and went to a mall 20kms away which luckily had 1 free AC charger.
I don't think finding DC chargers at least in Mumbai would be an issue though.

But think about it, you'll have to go out of your way to just commute in your car. It's genuinely bothersome beyond a point. And it's not the same as just fueling up. Even a 1hr DC charge would still pinch a lot more than a fuel top up. Not to mention, public charging is unreliable. Even in a mall, some noobs park right in front of the charging station making a properly functional charger useless.

Regards,
Staraptor.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

Hi,

Do we get a physical manual book, warranty card etc with the BE6? I got my car delivered yesterday and I did not get anything with the car, and the SA says nothing is provided with this car. Can someone please list out all the things we get along with the car. Though the car is a joy to drive, the delivery experience from the showroom has been terrible for me. I don't think I even got the portable charger with my car.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

My issues were all solved and Mahindra as a company has earned my trust back. I think I can count on them for anything. The way they have handled my situation and their customer centric approach was fantastic. I’m in love with car and the team at Mahindra and whatever tweets I have received from people talking bad about Mahindra either works for other car manufacturers or doesn’t know how great of a team is behind Mahindra.

Anybody still on the fence thinking about buying this car and trusting Mahindra, from a be6 owner, you can trust Mahindra to be there if you ever face any issue.

Peace.

Good to see that the team is proactively handling issues. As a future owner waiting for their delivery it makes me happy that the team is working well behind the scenes.

BTW what was the issue at the end? Cell balancing only due to not charging upto 100%? Please tell Mahindra to remove their video from YT suggesting users to only charge to 80%.

Also to remove 80% default set as max charge limit in a future software update, since you're in touch with them.

Mahindra delivers 3000 BEV's, considering average price of 28 lakhs. Mahindra has already made 840 Crores from their Born Electrics which is 8.5 Percent of their investment.

Just checked the video. Seems like they have edited the YouTube video and removed the 'charge upto 80% only' option. Finally!!!

Here's the YT video:

The 840 crore is revenue though, not profit. Profit would be around 100-150 crores, which is around 1-1.5% of their investment.

Though I'm sure the pace of deliveries will go much faster in the next few months with pack 1/2 also delivering and these update shenanigans getting over which are delaying the deliveries.

I'm yet to get mine for example
