With a larger battery back of 79 KwH, can we expect a realistic range of about 530 Km in above scenarios from the BE 6E and about 515 from XEV 9E? In hypermiling terms, I think both can cross even 630 Kms realistically?

You can expect real world range closer to the WLTP range in our conditions. Going past that figure will require hypermiling.

This is Mahindra’s CV division not the PV division

It mentions treo specifically, had it been for XUV/XEV/BE, it would be under the PV business “Mahindra electric” not MLMML

Also, 18.9L for base model BE6 competing with curvv 55 accomplished (19.25L) isn’t a lot, considering that the price of BE6 doesn’t even include 7kW EVSE (all OEMs charge ~₹50K for it) and BE6 also lacks V2V and V2L which means Mahindra are saving some money on bidirectional OBC also.

If you see the released specs for BE6 pack 1, there is no other clear differences in the features and price between that and curvv 55 accomplished.

Further, if you see BaaS vs non-BaaS pricing of Windsor and ZS, there is 3.5L and 5L delta respectively (₹10K per kWh)

Had Mahindra given pack 3 features in 19L or had the pricing of pack 1 BE6 been 15L then it would be understandable. All the features we saw for pack 3 will be closer to 25L not 19L.

Heck, I would even go on to say that Mahindra can gatekeep some of the fancy features like auto park, groove me etc under some subscription plan (touchwood)

Speculation. Prices will be out after auto expo once bookings commence hopefully.

Didn’t see it being mentioned in any review and considering Mahindra went so deep into their presentation about the powertrain such as power, real range, safety and warranty, I would be surprised if they just outright ignored something their nearest competitor is offering.

In any case if it is present then I stand corrected. Nevertheless the point about the pricing still applies as there is ₹35K gap in exShowroom prices of curvv55 acccomplished and BE6 pack 1.

Which can be explained by lack of bundled 7kW EVSE alone. The pricing is excellent, yes, but not so low that we have to theorise that it will come with BaaS.

In case of Windsor, we are getting almost Creta automatic worth of car and features which comes in at 17L, for 10. BE6 pricing is not that crazy.

Just experienced Mahindra BE 6e. It feels so premium inside and outside. Built quality is too good. Found opening and closing hood little tricky as it can't be lifted from the middle. Ingress is little difficult for tall people to access rear seat, egress is ok. Very good legroom and headroom. Premium interiors. Thigh support is also decent for both front and rear seat. Ground clearance could be an issue for old age people and aftermarket foot board can't be installed for this. Boot door is too heavy to lift and close manually, it should be operated electrically only. Yet to experience more when test drive is available.

You are among the very few who experienced this first. Congratulations. I am worried about one thing in BE 6, Can 3 people (~5'7") comfortable sit at the back? Another issue is the use of too much gloss black plastic. I am waiting to test drive both BE 6 and XEV 9e, hopefully in Jan.

The orange color does not have that much of an orange tint in sunlight (like first gen Creta and Harrier). The color looks decent and brings back memory of Sunset Orange offered on XUV500.

Did you find central partition element intrusive when you sat inside?
How is build and quality of cloth type material that is used to open doors from inside? Does handle cloth material feel built to last? One of my major concern for BE 6 is not to get locked inside the car, because inside handle broke.

+1 to this. All the current 4.3m ICE SUVs in market today can comfortably sit 2 adults and 1 child. 3 adults travelling in second row is not at all comfortable in 4.3m ICE SUVs due to one or combination of these - raised seats, middle hump, interference from rear center AC unit, lesser shoulder room.

I have started to consider EV as my next replacement car for city use and trips of about 400km.

Yes. Three people of 5feet and 7inches is not a problem, beyond that hight could be a problem, because side part of the Sun roof from inside is slightly curved and can push ur head in-words. But even a six feet person sit comfortably in the middle. There is a good amount of space for three. Tall guys sitting near the doors when there are three people could be painful for their necks. Gloss black plastics look shabby in the pics but in real it's good.

Great, thanks for your inputs. I just wish they went with matte plastics instead, keeping piano black clean and scratch free is a hassle. Hope in Jan we get to test drive these soon. Also the BE 6e to BE 6 rebranding might take some time. I hope there is no delay in delivering the BE 6 because of that.
