Happy BEing
It's been a pattern now that almost all the cars getting delivered in April are niggle free and nothing weird about it.
Even my car is niggle free and I've done around 1,800 kilometres and I'm getting a range of 500 easily(I'm an ev user since almost 2 years), so I probably have the hang of it and know how to extract kilometres better than first time users. Still a lot to learn though.
My car is literally the talk of the town in mysore.
This feeling of people drooling at the look of the car is so satisfying and this cannot be measured monitorily.
Awesome job mahindra!
Also, can somebody help me how to post pictures or videos on this thread please.

This is my single biggest let down in this car. I completely understand that they want the auto park and adas to command a premium. The 360 degree camera though I think is a much needed tech for this car. So if I could get a BE6 79 kWh in a lower trim with lesser features (yes, I don't need a moon roof or some of the other features), it could seal the deal for me.

Unlike the ICE counterparts, I feel the battery size is one area where the customer is taken for a ride in EVs. You don't have an ICE car that offers better driving range for more money (unless it's a hybrid, or for a weaker argument, Diesel vs petrol ICE prices. Even then, most cars do have a diesel base variant). I don't mind paying for a larger battery pack, but then, I do mind paying for features I don't need.

Let me break down the not so useful features:
1. Auto park: one could do without it. More of a gimmick I'd say.
2. Moon roof and any glass roof for that matter: I've used my sunroof all of 3-4 times in 1.5 years and have opened it once. I live in a place where it's hot year round.
3. Seat ventilation: I use this in my current car, but not a deal breaker. Wouldn't ever go to say this feature affected my purchase.
4. Heads up display: BE6 does this really well. I don't mind paying the premium.
5. Adas: I'm still a bit young for this. I could do without it for 6-8 years down the road.
6. Leatherette seats: was a deal breaker because I felt this should be a normal. But I'd be perfectly fine with fabric seats.
7. Speakers: I love good speakers. But then, I always play music at reasonable levels and I'm more into the quality of sound. Higher bass or more powerful systems aren't exactly for me.

Unfortunately, the 30L space has very few offerings and none of them have anything special. They're mostly top end variants. So people are going to end up buying the BE6 79 kWh.

I mean, this is a highly subjective topic. Everyone's notion of "useful" is different.

For me, I absolutely want seat venitlation, ADAS, and good quality speakers. Auto park is a great addition. Moon/sun/mars/jupiter roof, yeah I could do without.

Also, ICE cars do kinda have a range and performance differentiation as well?

These days multiple engine options of the same fuel type have become quite common. You have normal turbo and TGDi engines like Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai does. You have smaller and larger capacity engines like VAG group does. You have CNG options.

The packs in these cars don't just differ in battery size, they also differ in the motor power output.

100% agree. Especially in my home state of Karnataka, where tax implications are higher too for ex-showroom prices over 25L, the whole VFM argument of this car is taken out of the equation as well. I was really hoping for a Pack 2 79kWh for less than 25L, but looks like I may need to go elsewhere or settle for the 59kWh pack.

Sorry, but is anyone even offering anything above 50-55kWh around 25L? AFAIK they aren't.

ZS EV does 50kWH across the entire range.

Creta EV does 42-51kWh.

Curvv EV max 55kWh.

Agreed. This is all wishful thinking that has been given birth by Mahindra's amazing pricing to begin with. But the dream is to have a lower-specced version without fancy features but a knockout range figure. The 79kWh Pack 3 is 27L. Drop some of those fancy features and complicated electronics and have a Pack 1/2 variant but with a higher range. Some people just want that, so we're merely voicing it here. Chances of someone reading my comment and implementing it is next to nil, this is just a wish.

Hi, can anyone else confirm who has purchased the BE 6 that external PDI is not allowed. I was thinking of getting it done from Zekardo. I saw a vlogger on Youtube who got it done. Maybe he was allowed since he was a Youtuber?

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

Question for the BE6 owners. Is there an easy way to switch to Sports mode from Everyday mode?
In my Tiago EV, I use the sports mode only for short overtake moves. So I turn the dial to Sports mode, overtake and then move back to the normal ride mode.

I took a test drive of the BE6 and asked the sales person to put the car in sports mode, and from what I could see, it looked like you need to press the home button, then turn the dial, and then press a button, then turn the dial to sports mode and then press a button to confirm.

If this is the only way to switch to Sports mode, it looks like it is not really useful for quick overtakes. Can someone confirm if there is any quicker way to do this?

Yea, there is no direct button for sports mods though.
You can use boost mode instead. It's just a press of a button on the steering wheel. That's for quick overtakes.

I wish m&m had a direct button for changing between modes like my zs ev

I had also booked Zekardo, they reached out themselves saying that the dealership has never allowed them in the past and secondly, they do not have the electronic scanning for the BE so its only physical inspection from their side.

I got a call from the Mahindra staff themselves and they very clearly said it is not Mahindra policy to allow external PDI. I also shared the same video from the Youtube influencer but it seems for us normal folk, there are no exceptions.

Given my past long and tiring struggle to get my car, and that it was only a physical inspection, I settled for them to show me the telemetry by plugging in the Mahindra scanner and do the rest of the inspection myself.

There are quite a few 60kw chargers too. Depends where you are and what brand has major presence there. I usually rely on statiq and Zeon. They work really well.

Mine is a Feb Manufactured car and I got the delivery in March. In fact, I was one of the first ones to get it in Bangalore.

Yeah I understand. I don't think anyone in the market is doing that right now.
The general model seems to be low end variants for budget friendly, and high end for those who want to spend.

There is no shortcut to change modes.

However, the "Boost" button on the steering exists for this exact purpose.
You put it to boost, and it gives you 10 seconds of full power regardless of drive mode.

However, can I honestly say something?

This car absolutely does not need that unless you're in power saving mode. Even in default you can overtake literally every vehicle on the road without even applying 50% power.

I have not driven the car in any mode except default ever since I bought it. And I'm already 1700km in.

I have never felt the need to do that. 282hp is a LOT.

Without the charger

Was invoiced the Pack 3 with 7KW charger. Discount was applied for the charger amount (~50k was reduced). Charger will remain with the dealership.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

Folks, I highly recommend you check out the "M-Lens" option in the ME4U app.

It uses the camera to run a sort of Google lens on your car's console, and give a quick description of each symbol visible there.

Super handy feature, and genuinely, kudos to Mahindra for thinking and implementing this feature before it was ever needed.

Sample screenshots:
Mahindra BE 6 Review-img_2244.png

Mahindra BE 6 Review-img_2245.png

In other news, Mahindra service techs came by to my home to check the health of the LV battery in my car. I've heard that some people have faced LV battery drain issues, so they've been doing these checks.

My battery got a clean bill of health, and also gave me a shocking discovery. There were rat footprints below the frunk and inside the front of the car.

Instantly jumped and doused the entire underbelly of the car and the frunk with a rat repellent spray I have. Made by Bardahl. Supposed to last 4-5 months, though I re-apply it every month give or take.
