Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

I am planning to get the interior piano black coated with ceramic. Considering st gobain for PPF on piano black in exterior and ceramic on rest of the body as have opted for white color. On white seats and planning on getting a nano coating done. It works really well have done on my sofas as well. Will be using custom screen guards for the screens, steering wheel, knob, and areas under the AC.

Why would you get ceramic coating for the interior? I can't think of it having any benefit whatsoever, since you won't ever clean it with water and air dry it anyways.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Ceramic is only for piano black areas to avoid finger prints and smudges.

I had done my Windsor's ppf from WeCad detailing, Thane. Do give it a try there and see the quotes they give. Rest assured they are pretty good at their work.

Quick question- how many of you will cancel your bookings if Harrier EV gets launched at 30-35 lakhs with 370 Bhp Power and 500 NM of Torque and QWD setup

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

I got an email from my dealership that my car is allotted and to complete my payment formalities - they have not given me a chassis number or let me do a PDI though. So i was there at the dealership to sign loan agreement as my SA told me that my particular car has been fully updated now and ready for delivery soon as loan/RTO formalities are completed. While i was there i saw a Red car being delivered to a customer - there was cake cutting and it just had a A/F number tag. My SA said lot of people have completed payments but their cars are taking time to update so getting delayed by a few days.

First of all, Harrier EV AWD would never be priced this low. It will be surely priced at par or above 9E AWD. Secondly, it doesn’t have any upgrades or increased capabilities from the ICE Harrier whereas Mahindra has made incredible upgrades such as an all new platform, LFP battery cells from BYD, ADAS systems from brake by wire, small turning radius of 5m, semi adaptive dampers, one pedal driving,AI features, 16 speaker sound system from Harmon Kardon with dolby atmos, self parking, snapdragon chipset, other ADAS features whereas Tata is yet to give ICE Harrier and Safari lane keep assist which was promised almost an year back.

Mahindra had drifting by Gaurav Gill, a live crash test, a ride quality display with those champagne flutes on the car, a factory floor tour, a display of the body shell and various components they have sourced from the industry best like Valeo motor, BYD battery cells, Aptiv screens, qualcomm processor compared to Harrier EV display with just the cars going down and over a ramp which any car can do and tailgating each other forward and backwards without any synchronisation.

So yes, I don’t believe Harrier EV will be able to compete with Mahindra EVs. And 9E AWD will probably come before Harrier EV AWD.

But if BYD Seal or Sealion 7 would be priced at 35-37L, I would cancel 9E booking for sure.

Is it the same email which states the OTF number and that the car has been billed and allotted from Mahindra and asks us to complete our payment and loan documents?

Which dealership was this where deliveries have started and when have they committed delivery for your car?

I like Harrier looks more, but for me still Mahindra > Tata as an automaker.
I would appreciate AWD but in my opinion even 282 BHP is unnecessary!

Yes this exact email. This is Koncept in Noida. They said it was their first delivery. For me they have said 2-3 days after my loan is disbursed which will happen tomorrow so expected delivery is 24-25th March. They have made me sign RTO documents also and started my registration process and said my car has been software updated. I enquired about the new keys - my SA wasn't aware if keys also have been updated.

If Harrier EV had 370bhp (which would also need 80+ kw battery), Tata would have leaked bits of that information already. They may still get high bhp, but I'd think that would be only a last minute upgrade in response to the 9e launch and an afterthought of when they came to know that Harrier will be unsellable with the current premium pricing as an EV.

Won't cancel unless it has at least a 79 kWh or bigger battery, Moreover considering the Harrier EV is not Born Electric, the chances of a bigger battery without many compromises are slim, albeit possible.

Born electric EVs are the way to go and until Tata or any other manufacturer launches a compelling one in the sub 30 lakh segment, with over 500 km real-world range, nothing would sway me.

The cable from the DB to the charger looks short, did they cut it as both are placed closer?
