Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Friends, is there a cancellation charge on booking ? For xuv700, scorpio-n, etc., they charged in some cases and not all.
Hence the curiosity for this electric series.

My dealer's price-list form says Booking cancellation charges Rs. 2100, if cancelled after 48 hours. But the sales person said its only if applicable but as of now there's none.

No cancellation charges till April 2025 — this is what I remember reading. Not sure if it means bookings made till April 2025 or bookings cancelled before April 2025.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Big day for Mahindra today… As far as I can see their marketing team has put in a crazy effort! After the tall claims on Roxx booking, and considering just 2% EV car market, I am expecting something like 50k initial booking, anything less would be disappointing for Mahindra. Let’s see!

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Has Mahindra formally shown Pack 2 cars anywhere to compare with Pack 3?

As in how does it drives vs the bigger battery pack? How does it look from inside? What's the actual range for pack2?

People considering to book pack 2 are basically booking it after seeing/test driving Pack 3?

I have a strong feeling Mahindra will launch 79Kw with pack 2 sometime in future after initial craze dies down. All depends on bookings they get today.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Booked the pack 3 in red through Mahindra’s online portal at 9:01 AM at a different Showroom and another white one at the showroom near me through a PDC I had given them a month ago.

Now, it seems it’s my luck which colour my 9E will be! Also, does anyone have an idea if online bookings get first preference or PDC bookings?

Lastly, I think we should have a poll or something to decide whats everyone’s favourite colour and what everyone has booked!

From Scorpio and Roxx experience/ hearsay, most dealers also get the same window to upload data and mostly lose the fastest finger first compared to personal online bookings. So, if you were fast enough, online booking will get preference. BUT, looking at what happened with Roxx, 9:01 isn't fast enough to get in first batch .

That’s a bummer. Should have just booked both online using two phones. 9:01 might be enough for XEV considering it’s only pack 3 and over 30L and also an EV. Also, our XEV thread only has 30 pages whereas Thar Roxx has around 200?

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

I have booked XEV 9e Deep Forest Pack 3 via PDC. When I see my account, I see 2 bookings but dealer said they will make the correction. As per dealer there is too much rush for bookings today. I asked them that I will take delivery in April so there's no rush if I am not in first lot. As per them they still don't know the pricing for 20" tyres.

Attached the pricing in Pune.

I'm also hoping for the same. I think I completed mine just before 9.01, but my credit card authentication took more time than usual. + I have one with PDC too, but it doesn't show online so far.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Took a small 2km test drive of the 9e. I drive a Gen 1 Fortuner and this was my first time driving an EV. Some impressions

1. There was no rush at the showroom. Its a Tier 3 capital city. There are 2 dealerships in my city.

2. Initial response to a customer entering the showroom was lackadaisical. However the SA assigned was decently knowledgeable.

3. The vehicle looks striking and the build quality appeared solid.

4. The outside piano black cladding already had minor scratches with wiping from cloth.

5. The inside 3 screen setup was beautiful.

6. The front seats were great. The rear seats required a bit of inclination adjustment to get better under thigh support.

7. Don't understand Mahindra's fixation with white colored seats. They were already spoiled after only a couple of days of TD. Will be a real eyesore every time one gets into the car.

8. I drove in everyday mode which is more than quick for city conditions. Started with regen level 2 and then switched to level 1 as i felt more comfortable in it.

9. The drive was super silent. My daily drive is a gen 1 Fortuner. Felt like moving from the humdrum of a fish market to a pin drop silence room

10. The suspension is compliant and felt like floating on clouds compared to my Fortuner.

11. Switched off all ADAS functions since it was a city drive and i am not used to these functions.

12. The biggest bummer for me was rear visibility. As i looked into the rear view mirror i could only see through a band in the mirror. First i thought that there is some issue with this electronic mirror. But then i realized that this is what you are to get in this design of vehicle . Now i really like to see those pesky bikers sneaking around left and right from behind. You will definitely miss them.

13. Somehow could not get a sharp focused image of the HUD. Maybe it was due to the progressive lenses i wear. Found the HUD a bit distracting.

Overall a brilliant product from Mahindra. However they will really have to up their service levels for such a complex vehicle. My next car would definitely be an EV, but will wait for couple of years for things to stabilize with our Indian manufacturers.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

I have never seen this kind of excitement for other electric cars. Mahindra knows how to come with a bang when late to the party. The Creta EV thread has hardly any activity and neither dealers are showing any enthusiasm

It will be nice to see how the booking numbers are looking by end of the day.

I hope the charging infrastructure is also updated accordingly else soon this will become frustrated ownership experience for any/all electric cars for those who are not able to install dedicated chargers (multi story apartment).

That said, they really need to figure out their supply demand issues when launching new car. Booking car and waiting for a year is atrocious. Lets see how supply-demand pans out for these EV

I also hope they remove mandatory charger down the line as it is utter waste of money when you don't have feasibility or already have existing one installed.

Mahindra and/or the dealer are playing around with ex-showroom price because they know road tax will be charged in Karnataka when ex-showroom price goes beyond ₹25 lakh and people may not buy these variants. I am not sure if other dealers are also following this same practice. If this is happening across dealerships in Karnataka then something smells fishy to me. I will check with my SA as I did not received on-road prices yet for all the variants as I have not given confirmation on booking yet.
The charger price is included in the ex-showroom as per guidance from Mahindra and not a call from the dealers. I had fought over this with the Mahindra representative when I sent out a mail to customer care and got a call from them. Today my SA mentioned that they are going to change this and keep the charger out of the ex-showroom price, let's see if that really happens.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Do we know the charging curve for the 9E? While the 20-80% charging time is out, was wondering what the curve beyond that looks like? Considering it tends to drop off towards 100%
