Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Folks, with the booking date nearing, I am super confused about the color to pick. I have striked out Desert Myst, Forest Green and Ruby Velvet. Any help on how would you guys rate between: Tango Red, Everest White, Nebula Blue and Stealth Black? Which one you think suits the 9e better?

I have only seen XEV 9E in Tango red color in real life. I have seen Thar Roxx and 3XO in Nebula Blue and the color looked nice and different on both cars. It is darker shade of blue, looks blackish under shades and will give better hints of blue in bright sunlight (as compared to Midnight Black of XUV700).

My color preference for XEV 9E in order are - Nebula Blue, Tango Red, Everest White and finally Ruby Velvet. If "Ruby Velvet" resembles Opulent Purple shade of XUV500 then it will be my first color choice.

I’ve seen all the colours. Red is the best. Blue looks good too but the issue with both these colours is that they don’t age well. So, for me, white is a good bet.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Mahindra's EV aspirations:

- Plans an initial monthly output of 5,000 EVs for its XEV 9e and BE 6 electric SUVs.

- To Sell Over 1.2 Lakh EVs per Year by 2027.

- The EV segment likely to contribute to 20-30% of its overall auto volumes in 2027

- By 2027, 20% to 30% volumes are anticipated from electrics and that is in a range of 120,000 to 200,000 per annum volume.

-Mahindra will start bookings for its complete lineup of XEV 9e and BE 6 on February 14, through 250 plus dealer outlets and its official website.

- The phased delivery schedule for the models is set to begin mid-March 2025 with pack three variants, while other packs will be delivered between June and August 2025.

-Mahindra has upgraded its showrooms. It has also hired over 500 people across the country with experience in selling luxury premium brands.

- On top of this dealers have added over 700-800 people to educate potential buyers about the tech in electric origin SUVs, through test drives.

-The company will manufacture its XEV 9e and BE 6 at its new facility in Chakan, Pune. It is creating a production capacity of 90,000 units per annum, which could be further scaled up to 1.2 lakh units per annum.

Have you seen ruby velvet? I am trying to find at least a picture of it from somewhere but have failed till now. I'm keen on the color but not able to decide without seeing it once.

In 9e I have seen all colours in person, except Desert Myst & Ruby Velvet. Ruby Velvet, I think they haven't produced yet, as even their sales team who went to MSPT have not seen that color. Though I have unofficially booked the Everest White, I am still dilly dallying considering Nebula Blue, Tango Red & Stealth Black. Going to the showroom again today with family to make a decision on the color.

Btw, today morning I saw multiple 9e's of the same color (Tango Red & Forest Green) reach the dealership. Looks like the first lot is getting dispatched and will be delivered sooner than March end. And it also appears that at least in our city, 9e's are getting dispatched more than BE6.

I have seen and test driven the desert myst. Took pics too if you'd like to see. I am torn between desert myst, nebula blue and ruby velvet. Maintainence of light colors is pushing towards the desert myst, but ruby velvet intrigues me. I am ok to compromise on color if that speeds up delivery though, so I am afraid to book the ruby velvet due to similar fear as what you mentioned about the color not being produced.
I also got this invite from the dealership I have unofficially booked at. Considering going as I think they might have more pieces and colors available to see due to the visit.

Can you post some pics of Desert Myst color on 9E as I have not seen it other than YouTube videos?

Found this on the official review thread:

Mahindra XEV 9e Review-2024_mahindra_xev_9e_exterior_20.jpg

The desert myst color doesn't suit the XEV 9e though! The XEV 9E looks S-E-X-Y in the red color!

Mahindra XEV 9e Review-be6eexteriorleftfrontthreequarter3.jpg

On the other hand the BE 6 looks great in the Desert myst color!

Red looks smashing in showroom conditions

Forest Green i did not click, looked subtle and good, but in general I like this color in cars like Roxx.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

There are videos surfacing of the XEV 9E's airbags not deploying on accidents.

Some videos I've found:

The worst one came on Telegram today; unable to upload it here. Pretty badly hit, no airbags deployed.
