In my perspective, XEV had much better ride and handling, not because Atto was bad, but just because how amazing the semi-active dampers are tuned.

Atto has some funky interiors like those guitar strings on front door pad, the door unlock rotator and the moving center screen. XEV is lot more traditional from inside. The dash finish of Atto is really good. The material choice and quality felt better than XEV. Atto does feel overall more premium in quality.

NVH would be tie for both. Though I did hear the motor humming in XEV which I didn't in Atto, I'd say in larger level NVH is same in both.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Folks in Pune, which showroom has the XEV 9E or BE 6 available for test drive? I enquired a few, and they don't even have it on display.

Yes Atto 3 interior materials quality is a notch above Mahindra twins.

I have taken the test drive from 2 showrooms, Unnati Motors (Chandan Nagar) and PPS Motors (Wanowrie)

I felt overall Unnati Motors is better at managing the test drives and there was absolute chaos at PPS. If you need Unnati Motors SA's contact you can DM me.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

I sat in both BE 6 and 9E at the Auto Expo. I found that under-thigh support is lacking in both front and rear seats in BE 6, while it is lacking in front seats in 9E. 9E's front seat has an almost Thar like under thigh support, but the rear seat was comfortable. Is there anyone else who feels the same?

I feel this will be very subjective depending on a person’s height and build. For my 5’6” lean build (65 kg), I found the underthigh support more than enough.

I find it lacking in my Audi A4 as well as other entry level Germans which come without extendable thigh support.

Also, Thar Roxx vs XUV 700, I felt the seats in Roxx are lacking in width compared to XUV 700, while the underthigh support was adequate.

The excessive use of faux leather without contrasting accents (like chrome, silver, or wood) left the cabin feeling uninspired.
Went to check out the 9E today. And I so agree! While to me the colour isn't the issue, it is the fact that it is a texture-less plain bland material, with only stitch lines, making it look very artificial and bland and imposed.

The feeler I got was not of a 32-34lakh car, that was my only problem.

Other than that,
- Legroom both front and rear was good. I could sit behind myself at 6.2+.
- Headroom at the rear was ok, not much to spare, but ok.
- Rear seat is very wide, 3 adults with ease.
- 3 screen setup was ok (wasn't a wow feeling) but the 3rd screen was not too far from the driver, which is a bit of a distraction.
- Boot was deep and wide, but with the parcel tray not high to keep luggage standing on its side, i.e. airport runs will need removal of parcel tray at least.
- The AC vents are not to my liking, but not something that is too bothersome.
- Skyroof is huge
- Frunk is useful.

I didn't get to drive so nothing more to report.

As I said, my only gripe is that the front interior didn't give a 32-34lakhs car feeler, maybe it was just the display car that had gotten dirty!

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

I had the chance to check out the Mahindra EVs today, and after spending nearly a month immersed in threads about the Xev9e and BE6, I was almost certain I’d be underwhelmed when I saw them in person. But I couldn’t have been more wrong! I spent a decent amount of time with the Xev and I’m genuinely blown away. As someone who already owns an EV, I thought I had a fair idea of what to expect , but the in-cabin experience, along with the exceptional NVH levels, really caught me off guard. It was enough to make me seriously consider parting with 32 lakhs.

I’ve always admired Mahindra’s diesel engines, but their cabins never really impressed me. However, after experiencing the 9e in all its glory, I’m happy to say I was completely wrong. Other than a couple of odd bits (eg: the font light housing+ roof control switchgear), the cabin felt truly luxurious! The music system is crisp. I wouldn't be surprised if people tend to prefer this over their precious sound systems at home, in the coming days. This car honestly seems to have taken the game to new levels! Dare I say, Mahindra is well on it's way to becoming an aspirational brand that can confidently hold its own against European competitors—many of which are far more expensive.

Is it true that 79 kwH battery is there only in Pack 3 and not in Pack 2?

A few months ago, it would have been hard to fathom considering spending 30-something on a Mahindra. They are doing what Maruti did—when spending more than 10 lacs on a Maruti (before Brezza) was unimaginable.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

The Mahindra website now kind of forces you to select a charger (7.3 kW or 11 kW) and that is added to ex-showroom price which is absurd. For the people like me who lives in an apartment can not install this as our society does not allow 7kW charger installation. I am trying to convince them for a simple 16A plug. But the way Mahindra is bundling and charging extra is concerning. Why an accessory be added to ex-showroom? I have wrote to their customer care regarding this.

Looks like Ruby Velvet is no longer an option. In preferences page this is no longer available. I also liked this dark burgundy like color. Desert Myst did not looked too nice in person to me, so I am a bit confused between Tango Red and Deep Forest.

Adding accessory price to ex-showroom is not at all acceptable. The charger price of ₹50k will result in road tax and insurance prices. All EV manufacturers were providing wall charger free with top variants. If Mahindra gets away with this strategy then others will follow which will be bad for customer.

Please let us know what customer care says.

I got a call from Mahindra about the same and I clearly stated that if any extra cost is added to ex-showroom then the on-road price is heavily impacted. Why can't we keep things simple and let an accessory be an accessory. They told me that they have received similar queries from other users and they will discuss this with management. So those who are seriously considering getting BE/XEV please do write to their customer support and hope for the best.

If they are adding a 7/11 KW charger in the ex-showroom price, naturally the insurance premium will go upward.Does this insurance cover any damage to the charger?
