2025 Kia EV6 GT now comes with Virtual Gear Shifts, similar to the Ioniq 5 N Kia recently introduced the updated version of its all-electric model, the EV6, at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The new Kia EV6 has received a bunch of upgrades both to its exterior and interior. On the exterior, changes include a sharper fascia, revised headlights, which now incorporate Kia's "Star Map" lighting and restyled taillights. Inside, the new EV6 gets a new steering wheel and sharper edges to the curved displays. The 2025 Kia EV6 also gets a larger battery pack, offering more range and performance. The changes are also carried onto the model's top-spec performance version, the EV6 GT.
The Kia EV6 GT now uses the same high-output dual-motor electric powertrain as the Ioniq 5 N. This now bumps up the power output offered on the EV6 GT to an impressive 601 BHP and 770 Nm, from the previous 577 BHP / 740 Nm. Also, just like the Ioniq 5 N, the power on the EV6 GT can be boosted temporarily to 641 BHP.
However, the most significant update on the 2025 Kia EV6 GT is the addition of the fake gear shift and engine sound features. The EV6 GT borrows the Ioniq 5 N's virtual gear shift feature, which comes in the form of a fake 7-speed automatic gearbox. The performance EV pairs the fake engine sounds with the 'Shifts" to create a more traditional and immersive driving experience.
The 2025 Kia EV6 GT with the virtual gear shifts and engine sounds will go on sale internationally sometime next year. Prices for the same will be announced closer to the launch date.
