A Tesla Model S owner & a family in a Model 3 finish an around-the-world trip in their EVs According to reports, two Teslas have managed to drive around the world in a span of 6 months, creating an official world record. The record was set by a Model S owner named Rafael de Mestre and an entire family with 3 children in a Tesla Model 3.
The interesting fact is that, for Rafael de Mestre, this was the fourth round-the-world journey in an EV. The first time he completed the trip was in 2012, in a Tesla Roadster, followed by 2016 in a Tesla Model S. He followed it up in 2022, once again in his Roadster, before his latest trip this year in the Model S.
This time though, he took along with him a Czech family of 5 - a husband, wife, and their three children - in a Tesla Model 3. The trip reportedly set an official world record as the first round-the-world trip in an electric car by a family. It also set another record for the longest trip in an EV by a family. In addition, de Mestre also set a record for the longest-driven trip in an EV by covering 42,015 km and crossing 36 countries. The Model S is also said to have had 6 lakh km on the odometer at the start of the trip.
