Many congratulations! Yours is a T Green vehicle, right? May i ask which dealership did you pick it up from? My dealer (in Mumbai) tells me he has not got any green Essence so far and hence the delay in delivery.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Anyone who is facing arm twisting or harassment by their dealership regarding loan, insurance or anything, write up a grievance/complaint mail, as detailed and frustrating as possible.
Write all about the arm twisting incidents or wordings used by the dealership.

Attach your booking ID and receipt to it and send it to the following:

Other than these, also CC the mail to your dealership's Sales Head and CRM, you should have gotten their mail ids in the welcome email MG/Dealership sends after booking, I think it starts with "MG Hostess"
Do not forget to CC the Dealership Business Head (his email is also provided in same welcome mail)

Sent the mail yesterday and within few hours yesterday got a call from MG Backend team about the issue and escalated it to their leadership.
Today morning got call from Dealership CRM Head apologizing about everything and assuring (again) that I will be delivered my Green car's booking from new batch arriving November first week.
I asked for written confirmation about the allotment which they said they will send in evening, lets see.

Apparently one of the transportation truck with Delhi-NCR's stock collapsed/collided last week, which caused this huge shortage and panic of cars in Delhi and surrounding regions.

Let's see, MG Lucknow called stating they had a Black Essence and will allot to me for delivery next week, but if Delhi gives confirmation for my green today, I will put that on hold.
Donot want to experiment driving a new car on Lucknow Expressway.

Offtopic, ironically most of our new expressway's lack EV chargers, which is such a bummer and completely opposite of what the Gov always claims.
Even Delhi-Lucknow expressway has so little expressways, that you cannot cover it without pulling out of the expressways for odd 10KMs to charge and hop back in on the expressway.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Just took delivery of my White Exclusive variant (christened 'Pearl' by my daughter) in JP Nagar, Bangalore yesterday and this car is amazing!

I see a bunch of posts with questions & concerns so will share my experience, limited as it may be.

But first, a picture!
MG Windsor EV Review-whatsapp-image-20241024-20.34.04.jpeg

The Car:
1. Metallic pearly white looks gorgeous. I've seen the Black and the Turquoise in day & night conditions and IMO, the white is the one to get. Looks clean, premium and very modern. Since the styling is modern, white looks especially great almost Apple-esque spaceship like.

2. Much has been written about the excellent fit & finish and space. Its all true and ill cover this in a more detailed report later. The main point is that the interiors are phenomenal and even the exterior quality & styling elements are great, barring the polarizing front. Almost every single thing is amazing. I also own a Jeep Compass and the Windsor is very very close on most.

3. The suspension is a bit stiff primarily in the way it handles potholes and speedbreakers. The car's jumping a bit if not on slow speed. I need to check the type pressure and feel that may need to run it slightly lower to offset this. If you are mostly traversing poor roads, this will matter else its not a big deal. I will update after driving more.

4. Love the seats. They've got the right amount of support but the quilted pattern feels different to me. I realized that I need to decline the seats a little more and then it felt super comfortable. My family loves the seats.
Rear seat recline is an absolute killer feature! This was a huge factor for us.

5. Sales team was excellent. Clear and prompt communication. Clearly wanting to give a great experience. They even moved up my delivery - a customer's loan was getting delayed and I was ready to pay in full instantly so they swapped the cars (mine was coming in a week later).
They were very clear about different aspects of the warranty, coverage, MG shield plan and sent me PDFs multiple times.
Lots of follow up during & after the delivery -- i took delivery last night and have already been asked a few times if there is any question, problems etc.

6. Insurance - I took United India Insurance via PolicyBazaar with add on of Battery Protection. I was told that this covers 100% of both the main & other battery as it's an Add on protection while their standard cover includes only 50%. I've asked for paperwork & official communication on that.

The sales / dealership team never insisted on a policy by MG. They sent a quotation but said that it's your choice.
Same thing for accessories.
None of these choices influenced the way they spoke to me or the delivery. Neither did I know them beforehand or do anything to influence them.

The sales team was really very good. Shout out to Suraj from MG Motors @ JP Nagar and his manager Sharat Naik! Superb exprience.

Happy to answer any questions

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Also I forgot to add that MG in Bangalore is doing a mega-delivery drive on Saturday where they're delivering 100 Windsors together in Whitefield. They're busy trying to arrange everyone's travel, etc as they're trying to make it into a huge event.

Generally, they're saying that the top end seems to be very popular and availability of that in Blue is running slower.

Congratulations on Pearl's arrival! Wishing you and your family many safe and happy miles. I completely agree that the car looks best in white, minus the unnecessary garnishes MG insists on adding which we have seen on all their test vehicles.

While we await clarification on the EV policy in Delhi at least, I'm hesitant to purchase until I have more information about the air conditioning system. Given the increased glass area and concerns about the greenhouse effect, it's received a lot of criticism. For those of us in the North, where summers are increasingly hot and long, a reliable air conditioner is essential. To make matters worse, the police are cracking down on tinted windows.

I'd appreciate it if new owners could share their experiences with the air conditioning system."

I think we won't have reliable AC feedback till summers hit, I wonder if many cars are launched at year end to avoid stress testing the AC during summer.

Given that, MG is selling company fitter window blinds and the sunroof roller/shade is quite thick and decent, but I think it would still help to tint the roof glass a little, don't think that will pose any problem with Police.

My only major worry is rear vent having single wind/fan angle control, during peak Delhi Summer.

People need to start using and get used to MG's remote control features, pre-cool their cars during summer before use.

Does Windsor even have the remote AC on/ off feature? I don't think so. ZS has the feature, but its missing rom Windsor I believe. We can, at best, roll down the windows remotely. Happy to be proved wrong though

Congrats on your Pearl!
Wishing you many happy miles with it.
Has your charger been installed? And what accessories did you choose?
Can you share images of the charger assembly?

Congratulations on your car delivery. Wish you many happy miles munching with the "Pearl". Please keep us updated on the actual range you seem to get and feedback on the suspension.

I have also booked one and yet to get the charger survey done. Got a call on the same though. With rains in Bangalore, things seem to be delayed.

Coming to the aspect of stuff suspension, the only change I am contemplating is regarding the tyres.

What tyres have you got? Ceat Securadrive?

The suspension has been compared with the stiff suspension of the older Seltos by some. We can take some cues from the Seltos owners too regarding tyre upgrade.

Let's say we want to keep it to 215/55 r18. I see Micheline primacy, Bridgestone Turanza 6i and Continental UC6 are available in this size. How much of a difference will these make?

I saw ZS EVs in the showroom fitted with Conti UC6. Can't complain that MG is saving 5k per tyre on the Windsor by giving us the Ceat, but should we change them right away?

We don't see many reviews on Ceat Securadrive. I guess people don't consider it worth reviewing.

Another item from the MG manual, possibly leading to a perception that AC is inadequate

I’d upgrade to continental UC6 right away. Should reduce road noise and improve ride quality noticeably!

How is the performance of AC for you two? Bangalore weather is cool and Mumbai is Humid. Pune's weather is somewhere in between so your response will give a good idea.
