Tesla sold nearly as many Cybertrucks as all other electric trucks combined in July 2024 According to data from S&P Global, the Tesla Cybertruck had a stellar sales figure in July 2024. The data suggests the Cybertruck sales numbers alone were almost equal to the combined sales figures of all other electric trucks in the market.
The reports state that Tesla delivered 5,175 units of its Cybertruck in July, which is only slightly lower than the combined sales figure of the Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevy Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, and GMC Hummer EV pickup. The Cybertruck's rivals registered a combined sales total of 5,546 units.
The stellar performance of the Cybertruck is also said to have helped improve the overall EV registrations during the same period. In July 2024, EV registrations increased to 118,273 units compared to 100,620 during the same month last year. In addition, the share of battery-powered vehicles in the USA also increased by 0.9% to 8.5% compared to the previous year. S&P Global mentions that the improvement in EV sales is mainly thanks to the strong financial incentives.
Having said that, S&P also reported that other Tesla models haven't been fairing as well. Reports indicated that the Model 3 witnessed a 31% fall in registrations in July. It also stated that registrations of non-Tesla EVs were improving, with July witnessing a 38% rise compared to last year.
