2025 Kia EV4 spotted testing in Europe

Spy shots of the Kia EV4 undergoing testing in Europe have surfaced online. The car was showcased as a concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year.

The Kia EV4 is slated to arrive in 2025 and be offered on both sides of the Atlantic.

Caught undergoing testing in Europe, the prototype sports a stylish Opposites United design that is hidden beneath heavy camouflage. While the disguise hides a number of details, the production model closely echoes the concept and sports familiar headlights. We can also see a revised intake and a sensor pod for the driver assistance systems.

Moving further back, there’s stylish bodywork that recalls the concept as well as the EV6. However, they’re joined by thick pillars and what appears to be traditional door handles. The rear end is heavily disguised, but retains the dual spoilers that were originally seen on the concept. The model also has vertical taillights and an angular rear window. Other notable highlights include plastic body cladding and distinctive Z-spoke wheels.

Kia has been tight-lipped about specifications, but the EV3 could give us clues on what to expect. The UK-spec crossover was detailed earlier this week and it offers 58.3 and 81.4 kWh battery packs. The former provides up to 267 miles (430 km) of range, while the latter increases that distance up to 372 miles (599 km). Regardless of which battery is selected, they power a front-mounted motor developing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 209 lb-ft (283 Nm) of torque.

The interior will presumably echo the EV3 and this means we can expect a minimalist cabin. However, it could include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a 5.3-inch climate display.
Love that the sedan segment is getting ‘charged up’, quite literally in this case. Long live sedans!
