My personal opinion is that with this staggered launch process you lose interest in the car by the time it is available in the market. There is no longer anticipation and excitement of new car launches.

Wuling Cloud EV to be sold as the MG Windsor EV in India

MG Motor India is gearing up to launch its third pure-electric model, the Cloud EV. It will be called the ‘Windsor EV’, when it goes on sale in the Indian market. The trademark application for the nametag has already been filed last month.



The MG Windsor EV is a four-door crossover, featuring an LED light bar with separate headlamp pods at the front. It gets wraparound LED taillights with L-shaped graphics and a roof spoiler with an integrated stop lamp.

Inside, the MG Windsor EV is said to offer sedan-like comfort. It will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a 2-spoke multi-function steering and dual screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster.

In the international market, MG offers the Cloud EV with two battery options: 37.9 kWh with 360 km of range and a 50.6 kWh battery offering 460 km of range. MG hasn’t revealed the technical details of the India-spec Windsor EV yet.

I think 'Cloud' was a much better name for this car - especially since they are branding this as a comfortable alternative to the sporty ZS? To me this feels like MG's version of the Jazz.

Cloud was a better/cuter and more apt a name. Would've worked well for younger appeal. It's not the best looking car but I think they should offer some good colors to make things interesting. Interiors look promising. It will all boil down to the pricing to sell something unconventional like this.
