MG India to Launch PhEV version of Hector and Gloster

A news on Money control has confirmed that there will be soon going to be a PhEV version of Hector and Gloster.

To quote "a model offering three variants—ICEV, Hybrid, and EV—is expected in September this year, with prices for these launches going up to the ex-showroom price of Rs 35 lakh they said.
Among the upcoming releases, there will be a new Astor priced between Rs 10-19 lakh, alongside a PHEV version of the Hector at approximately Rs 25 lakh and an EV version also priced at Rs 25 lakh. The Gloster PHEV, priced at Rs 50 lakh, and the Bingo electric hatch at Rs 10 lakh are also part of the upcoming lineup."

Re: MG India to Launch PhEV version of Hector and Gloster

I tweeted to the MG India X handle and asked about the PhEV version of Hetor, and they didn't deny it and only suggested staying tuned. Previously, whenever somebody asked them about Diesel automatics, they always maintained that it was not in their plans.

Hopes are high folks! People who dropped the MG cars because of FE, might be coming back to MG again!

MG, don't mess it up!

A Gloster EV with a 70 kW battery will be great! With a large battery and range, people will be willing to make it their primary car, especially chauffeur driven. It will also be cheaper than a PhEV.

I hope politicians buy it, it will be their contribution to the environment.
