BYD India is gearing up to launch a new product on July 10. The Chinese EV maker has released a teaser that shows a silhouette of a 4-door SUV, which as per reports, could be a new entry-level variant of the Atto 3.



Reports suggest that the Atto 3 is likely to get a smaller 50 kWh battery. While it will have a lower range compared to the 60.48 kWh unit offered currently, it will come at a lower price tag.

At present, the BYD Atto 3 is priced at Rs 33.99 lakh. The 60.48 kWh battery powers a single electric motor that makes 201 BHP and 310 Nm. The battery has a range of 521 km.

The new entry-level variant will enable BYD to compete with models like the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Harrier EV and Creta EV.

I hope BYD price this one aggressively, like they have done with the Seal. If a luxury vehicle in the league of the Seal can be priced at 42 lakhs, I am pretty sure the Atto 3 with the lower capacity battery can be priced in the segment occupied by the MG ZS EV today - it will then make the choices very interesting. I expect BYD will come out with all their guns blazing for this launch, pricing this new variant at around 22 lakh.

Hi, I strongly believe that BYD should price Atto 3 as

Mid variant with 50kW battery at 21.99 lacs
Top variant with 50kW battery at 23.99 lacs
Top variant with 60kW battery at 26.99 lacs

My question is will they be able to deliver enough vehicles to meet the probable demand?

In a bid to make the Atto 3 accessible, BYD will introduce two new lower-end variants of the Atto 3, which we have exclusively got details ahead of its launch.

BYD Atto 3 to get 2 new variants, taking total variant lineup to three.

Three variants include: Dynamic, Premium (first two are new) and Superior.

The new base variant will make the Atto 3 more affordable.

Entry model to get a new smaller 50 kW battery pack and will miss out on some niceties.

Unofficial bookings are open for the new variants ahead of the launch on July 10, 2024

the Atto 3’s base model will be available with a smaller 50kWh battery pack, while the mid-spec and top-spec variants will come with the 60kWh battery pack. Both the battery packs will team up with a single electric motor that produces 204 PS and 310 Nm.

The larger battery pack provides an ARAI-claimed range of up to 521km, while the smaller battery pack has an ARAI-claimed range of 468km. Using a fast charger, the Atto 3 can charge from 0-80 percent in 50 minutes, irrespective of the variant.

Disappointed that there was no price cut on the Superior Version. In all other markets, BYD had cut prices. Also no 15 Inch center display, No change in Tyres

I was okay with the screen but they should have changed the tyres at least. A missed opportunity for sure. I hope they at least removed "Build Your Dreams" badge at the back and replace it with just "BYD" like in the SEAL.

As per the pics in the brochure, the rear badge is BYD.

Pricing seems odd - 4 Lac extra for only ADAS features !!! The Premium version make more sense than the Superior

BYD Atto 3 launched at an introductory price of Rs. 24.99 lakhs.

• Base variant gets 50 kwh battery, the other two variants get 60 KWH battery
• ADAS is limited to the top variant
• Mid variant gets majority features other than ADAS

The pricing is still more than MG ZS EV. But BYD's blade battery is the best in the business.

Well, I will consider our wait well worth it (pun intended) just for the BYD badge. I kind of like this dark interior which will be easier to manage. I hope it is for all the color variants. Internationally this dark interior is only for Black and Grey color versions.

Continental Tyres, offered in other markets but not in india, is the biggest downer, for me. True that dark interior + BYD badge seems to be the only change done. Sigh, was expecting more Have asked my dealer to inform me once the new black color car comes in. Not sure about the dark interiors on all the colors - would make sense though.

In KA, Dynamic variant gets benefit of avoid 10% EV tax due it showroom price less than 25L.
