Kia EV6 facelift globally unveiled; Bigger battery, more range & faster charging

Kia has unveiled the 2025 EV6 facelift in its home market of South Korea. The newly updated Kia EV6 facelift features a number of changes, both in terms of exterior and interior updates, along with an upgraded powertrain.

Starting off with the exteriors, the EV6 facelift now features a newly designed set of headlamps with angular LED DRLs - more in line with those on the EV9 and the upcoming EV3. The 2025 EV6 also gets an upgraded bumper and grille area, as well as a new black & silver alloy wheel design, offered in 19 and 20-inch options. The side and rear remain mostly unchanged, with just minor tweaks.

Inside, the 2025 Kia EV6 facelift now features a curved screen housing both the digital instrument cluster and the central infotainment display. The EV also gets an updated two-spoke steering wheel. Other features include a digital rear-view mirror, improved head-up display and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto tech. What's new, is a fingerprint reader, which can register the driver, allowing them to start the EV even without the key.

The major update on the EV6 facelift though, is the larger 84 kWh battery pack, which replaces the old 77.4 kWh pack. As per Kia, the RWD version of the EV6 facelift now offers an improved range of 494 km, with the electric motors producing 225 BHP and 350 Nm. The dual motor version produces a higher power & torque output of 320 BHP and 605 Nm, respectively. In terms of charging, the updated battery pack now supports up to 350 kW DC fast charging capabilities - translating to 10-80% charge in 18 minutes.

Prices for the 2025 Kia EV6 facelift in South Korea start at around $40,500 and go all the way up to $46,000 for the GT-Line. Kia will also introduce the EV6 facelift in international markets at a slightly later stage.

I like how it looks.

But KIA needs to stop making off centered logos for the sake of looking different. It looks so annoying

I like the current gen's front better. This one however should grow on you over time and I think Kia is just going with having some design consistency in their line-up.

The EV6 has such an iconic design to begin with, I'm glad they didn't tinker too much in the design department. Overall, it still looks clean and elegant. But other than the slightly bigger battery which is certainly welcome, rest of it remains the same with some minor feature changes/additions. Nothing really to write home about - a minor facelift really.

The fingerprint reader, seen between the rotary dial and the power button, like the one in the EV9 for user profiles is a nice addition.

Think of the logos incorporated on branded T-shirts these days. You'll feel better.

Edit : Minor feature additions - Other than the fingerprint sensor, the electronic telescopic steering controls and addition of Digital Rear view mirror are evident. And gone is the piano black interior finish (hooray!) and is now 'hair brushed steel' finish. No more fingerprint magnet. Also wireless android auto and carplay via the new CCMC infotainment system.

here's one hands-on video of the facelift along with one with Technically Jeff's commentary.
