EV Owners: Will you buy an EV again?

Consideringthe brouhaha about EVs making or not making sense from a lot of people who are not EV owners or have not experienced an EV for a longer period of time, I think it was essential to know what current EV owners think of their cars.

My line of thought would be to ask current EV owners if given an option, looking back, will they buy the same or another EV again?

Also it will be interesting to know the reasons for your vote and the EV you currently own or have experienced.

Yes. Currently own a Tiago EV.
However would've picked up the Punch EV if it had been available then.

Happy owner of a Nexon EV LR.

Had the option been available then, I would have strongly considered the Punch EV LR, on account of the much better rear seat and the lesser asking price. Either way, it would have been EV only. Nothing comes close for daily urban use.

It's a matter of buying the correct tool for the task. For an urban inner city commuter, I would 100% buy the Tiago EV over and over again.

Happy owner of the Kona electric. Currently considering the MG comet EV for purchase in the immediate future and Atto 3 in the next year or so.

In my opinion, once someone is used to an EV, there’s no going back. I cant even enjoy driving my friends’ Germans anymore, because the drive quality of an EV is that much better. The fuel savings and green image are a bonus.

Yes, I would have picked an EV but I would have picked MG ZS EV - the Rs 19.99 lakh Model. Reason - Just larger battery size.

I would also be very tempted by the ZS EV at this price point and not much Chinese worries after the JSW partnership. Not only for the larger batter size but also for the substantially higher charging rate. I did not expect so many 50/60 kW or higher chargers to come so soon on the highways.

re: EV Owners: Will you buy an EV again?

Don't know it two wheelers count.

We had no real options when we were purchasing a car for dad 2 years ago, and the Electric Nexon was out of budget. But we did buy an OLA and I cant think of a better medium of commuting in the city than an electric two wheeler, and it costs us next to nothing as we have roof panels installed. The acceleration is entertaining and addictive, what a hoot!

If I had to do it again, it wouldn't be an OLA, but will definitely be an electric two wheeler. Anyone who regularly commutes in the city on two wheels and haven't tried and electric two wheeler, please test ride one*, it's a revelation.

*I meant a mainstream brand, not the likes of okinawa, Hero, ampere, Okaya etc..etc..

Tiago EV owner here. 17k kms in 13 months. There is just no going back. In hindsight I would have preferred to get the punch Ev if it was available then. But then again the tiago suits me super well. I have a Hexa for my long distance commutes.

Any future upgrades will always be an EV. Here is me hoping the MG4 will launch soon

Every single response here is positive. Which is in itself a great testament to the viability of EVs, at the very least, in the urban city mode commute and use case.

It would be great if those who have voted NO to give their points of view for the benefit of those who are sitting on the fence, or looking at options currently (like me)

re: EV Owners: Will you buy an EV again?

Super Happy Owner of a Tesla Model 3 Performance.

While the EV has several benefits over an ICE car but, after owning this car for 1.5 years, I would never rely completely on an EV but, would love to continue to own an EV vehicle as a 2nd car at home.

EV's are perfect to pot around the city (200miles/320kms of potting around in a single charge) where gas cars would deliver lower mileage due to start & stop traffic. And, for the long runs, I would prefer the ICE car.

That's exactly how I use my cars and in my humble opinion, this is the perfect blend to enjoy both type of cars.

I’d like to hear the views of people who have voted no, for an overwhelming majority seem to be extremely satisfied with their EVs. Did your cars have any reliability issues or was it something else?

Most of the people who voted no, don't even own a EV or have made zero posts about owning or driving a EV.

re: EV Owners: Will you buy an EV again?

Having driven an EV for over 150k km, voted for a big yes. The only thing I’d like to have is some extra range. As per my calculations, having ~500km range will bring down my fast charging needs by about 75% on roadtrips which would save 35-40 minutes of actual charging time and about 15-20 minutes of finding a charger, navigating to it, etc.

I have the same feeling. You'll be surprised how many people have prejudiced view about EVs, based on the stuff they read on internet. Toyota and Oil Cartel have been a bit successful in putting some apprehension in the minds of prospective customers, with their relentless attack on EVs.

And, as for buying EV again, hell yeah! Since I bought my Nexon EV just month and half a back so I'm not going to buy one in near future but whenever it's time to replace, replace I will with another EV. These days even ICE automatics don't appeal to me much because of shift-pauses and shift-jerks, however miniscule. Am spoiled by shift-less seam-less single-gear drive all the way from 0 to top speed.
