Regen doesn’t work when the battery is fully charged. Starts working at L1 at 95%, and normalises after 93%. System is calibrated conservatively, such that battery has enough empty capacity to take in the regenerated electricity.

Default behaviour with Nexon EV also. Slow charging or fast charging does not have any role here.

Thanks for clarifying. I have one more query after Regen started, I drove for 60 odd Kilometers and battery stands at 75% now but regen at L3 still feels like L2/L1 is there a way to find out that regen works properly?

The instentatious regen/drive is displayed as a meter on driver console. I think, you could refer to that for regen.

In my experience the regen for Punch starts at higher percentage itself like 98% or 99%. That is what I felt while driving.

This is a deal breaker for me as I sweat heavily from my back even when the AC is full on.
I am planning to book Empowered+LR next month and if these ventilated seats are not serving my purpose, I'd rather book the lower variant.

The blower is only from below, but powerful. It works pretty well.

I would recommend you to visit the Showroom and take the feel of the car features (Ventilated Seat). Tata keeps on rectifying the issues based on user feedback.

We have sent our car for 1st Service and the concern person said the air flow will be rectified. Can anyone share the latest Firmware update for infotainment.

I was driving downhill through multiple hairpin bends and at L3 the vehicle was too slow and had to go use L2. L3 is like pressing 75% of break to almost come to a stop. L2 is like pressing to slow down significantly and L1 is slight press of break to decelerate slightly.

The blower from back is not as good as the bottom but adequate and is better than the aftermarket ventilated seat I bought from amazon. It definitely keeps my shirt from getting drenched.

Re: Tata Punch.ev Review

Our car is back from First Service. They have updated the SW on th Infotainment system. Service advisor claims that most of bugs are fixed.

After BMS SW Update, the estimated range has gone down to 240kms in City mode. Earlier, it was showing 290kms.

The ventilated Seat Cooling at back portion is low when compared to Invicto Ventilation Seats

Any improvement in ventilation from the back after the 1st service?

They tried vacuuming the seats, there is a very low air flow from back portion. Underneath, the flow is good.

At 36°C outside temperature with AC on, your back won't sweat. But, just that you don't feel the air flowing.

Overall, I am satisfied. Tata Punch EV AC cools the cabin very quickly. Recommend you to opt for Empowered+ varient. The 360 Camera Setup is very helpful in congestion narrow roads.

Re: Tata Punch.ev Review

After the first 100% recharge, the range display read 330km which had been very encouraging. However, after city driving of just 124km, the charge dropped drastically to 36% with only 79km remaining! So, I was forced to recharge earlier than expected.

Now, after the second recharge to 100%, range is displaying just 198km, which is quite low - lesser that first by a whopping 132km. (All range readings at default regen-1 /city mode).

I'm wondering if the aircon is taking up huge part of the power since I am maintaining cabin at 22~23decC in this searing heat or if there is some serious issue with the battery pack.

Further, my Vivo mobile keeps hanging and becomes very sluggish once I get into the car since the infotainment system is automatically hooking on to it through wifi. While the car's infotainment system remembering my 'phone and hooking up automatically is a great convenience (especially for responding to phone calls on the go through steering wheel controls), it's a pain to manage the google road map display as I have been unable to use the settings on the mobile nor on the infotainment system!

Anyone facing similar issues?

I suppose yours is the MR version. With this car, you can expect a realistic range of 200km on full charge in real world. +- 10% on traffic and weather conditions. Keep expectations realistic.

AC saps a fair bit of battery when it is hot, like it is nowadays. With milder weather, energy consumption is in tune of 125-135wh/km. In 40 degree heat, expect it to average 155-175wh/km. You can invest in sun film for the front windscreen to make things easier for the AC.

I assume you have the top end model. Hope you have ensured that Wifi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth and Location has been enabled on your phone(All 4).

All these should be required for android auto to work smoothly. My phone also gets sluggish when using android auto, but navigation works seemlessly.

If you still getting issue, there are some software/firmware updates available for the infortainment system, you could check with service center if you are using the latest version. Also try connecting mobile using USB-A to your phone and check if wired mode is better.

As far as I understand the predicted range heavily depends on the last few km driven(after last vehicle turn on), and some previous history.
If the vehicle has consumed more power in the previous run, the range calculated will be less. There is nothing to worry. Try checking your driving score and AEC on zconnect app for better understanding.

The aircon usage statistics are available in zconnect app. You could check it.
If it is very high and you want to reduce, you can
1) increase the temp.
2) Change from auto AC to manual mode for better control
3) Make sure the air is in recirculation mode and does not take air from outside
4) Enable Econ mode in AC controls, you can check this under "climate" settings on infortaiment.

I have Empowered LR+. Hence its very surprising as to why the range is down to just 198km. IMO it should be in the range of some 240-260km.
