IMHO, every car they make has some minor issues. That's because of inconsistent qc. My car's irvm had an earthing fault. Also tailgate closing issue. These things were sorted out in the first sery. Ofcourse the software too has some issues (version 15.6 has lesser issues was the feedback I got from a WhatsApp group). However it's a great pleasure driving this machine.

I too own Etios 1 version and bought Punch EV in April, all issues are sorted out for me with the recent software update and no niggles noticed till date.

Re: Tata Punch.ev Review

I have booked a Tata Punch.ev Empowered + LR. Delivery is expected in 4-6 weeks.
I have driven ICE my entire life, this will be the first ev in the family. I have had very limited exposure to EVs (only TDs with XUV400, MG ZS ev, MG Comet, Tata Tiago ev, and Tata Punch ev).
The dealer I booked with seems the slimy kind (Go Auto, Nehru Place, New Delhi).

What points should I look out for during PDI?

Thanks. I can live with minor niggles that are software related. The only thing I'm worried about are the battery problems. After 10 years of fuss free ownership with the etios, stranding on the side of the road is what haunts me. The MG Comet is too small and the Hyundai Inster is still 2 years away and I'm left with only Tata as an option. Not interested in Citreon.

Good to know you are having a niggle free ownership. I'm also waiting to see if Tata would update the Tiago eV as well with a facelift but there is no news yet.

Re: Tata Punch.ev Review

Compared to Nexon ev of the initial days Punch ev has lesser issues and major issues have not been widely reported with batteries. I feel you should go ahead with the purchase.

It feels like you are writing the requirements for me, with the only difference being the Japanese manufacturer's car that I own.

The support scenario in NCR should significantly better with the presence of at least one EV only showroom and service center, even if you ended up having some niggles. Bangalore, AFAIK, doesn't have such luck.

Re: Tata Punch.ev Review

Has anyone experienced HV issue after battery dropped below 10% in Punch EV? If yes please mention. for me once it went just below 10% but nothing happened but many experienced in Nexon/Tiago.

I had driven it below 10 pc at least 4 Times (in the last one month) for a good 15-20 kms further before charging. No issues.

Re: Tata Punch.ev Review

Hello, I have the Punch EV Empowered +LR, I’m seeing an issue with the Histogram in the infotainment screen, as you can see in the attached picture, it’s not showing the energy consumption/ recharge, it’s just a flat line always, this behaviour is after the first service where they updated the software.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue, if so were you able to get it resolved ?

Re: Tata Punch.ev Review

Hi, I also own a PUNCH EV LR+, when i drive over potholes, <10% of the time, I hear a noise coming from the front left wheel. I did the torquing twice, though the frequency of the noise has gone down, the service center mentioned this noise will persist.

That noise is there in my car too. You hear a loud "khat" from both or either one of the front wheels when you drive over potholes at relatively higher speeds. The first time I heard this, I was startled. Even passers-bys turned and looked at my car hearing the noise. That pothole is on the usual road I travel. If I drive slowly over the same pothole, I don't hear any noise.

During first service, I told the service advisor regarding the issue and to check the suspension and link rod. After the service I was told that they've resolved the issue. But a week later I drove over some other pothole a bit faster and I hear the same noise. Now I'm wondering if I have to make peace with that.

Any suggestions/solutions if anyone got the issue resolved?

P.S.: In the Currv EV launch drive campaign in Udaipur last month, many YouTube reviewers have pointed out the same noise from the front wheels in their test cars when they drive roughly over potholes. Maybe this is a design flaw or something.

Re: Tata Punch.ev Review

After getting used to indicator sounds for past five months. Now without sounds, I have been forced to look at the display everytime to see if it's working.
This is my first car, these sounds were super useful for me to focus my attention on roads rather on display.

This will also be helpful in case of accidents ,to tell police or insurance , that you have used indicator properly through dashcam sound recordings.

Wonder, what made Tata to switch off the sounds or is it a bug?.
