Please use 30kW charger if theres an option to choose between 60 and 30. 1kW of power will at the max add 1kWh over an entire hour. Whereas on a faster charging car it will add 30kWh more energy over the same period of time.

You blocking the 60kW to get 1kWh more over an hour ruins it for everyone else. Please be considerate.

Yes, I always do follow that, I am just stating the fact. I am not sure if this the case with everyone, my observation is that 60kw chargers maintain 30kw until higher SOC levels, i.e upto 90-92 where as in 30kw it will taper of much quicker.

That tapering off has nothing to do with the charger. The charge speed is controlled by the BMS of the car.

I highly doubt its due to charger. I believe all Tata Nexon, Punch, Tiago EV users should stick with 30kw charger. Its also faster to charge the car to 80% and stop once more, then charging it 90 plus percent.

It's nearly 2 years old data which was done during the very first days of ev max introduction, it's my observation that after my recent service at 30k km the charging speed has improved. May be it got better with the software updates. I had observed many times in jio Bp chargers that Nexon ev max holding 29-30 kw at 90% also and 20 - 25 kWh upt 95%

I was in a notion to not charge beyond 85% at fast chargers in view of battery health but recent HV error below 10% (HV critical error (Tata Nexon EV Max Review)) rendered my car non drivable.

So considering 85% will give you hardly 200-220km of high way range and tata is restricting last 10% of it. So it effectively gives you just 180-190km per charge
.That means you almost need to stop 50 - 60 min for every 2.5 - 3 hrs of highway driving.

I also belive tata should be more transperent with their updates to the car, and more information about the charging stats which will make us plan things better.

This is our daily city drive which is driven by our driver. He manages nothing more than 135-140Kw/hr. No matter how much one explains to accelerate gradually, some things just don’t seem to get into their heads. I’ve accepted it and am living with it, cost of having a driver
I can see there’s definite degeneration in battery health as even though it’s cooler in Bombay currently, the Wh/km has remained more or less same. So it’s going to get worse come summer, in few months.

I would risk money only within 20L on a Tata car, having seen their standards, both manufacturing & service station.

Edit: Forgot to add, it’s always driven in regen 3
Cheers
I personally feel REGEN 3 in city has higher impact on range (lower efficiency) than in REGEN 1. I see that in my car, which I know is a bit counter-intuitive.

I get 230-260 kms range EV PRIME 2022 model in Bangalore with a wh of 115-135.
Also, the range depends on where you charge is what I feel.
In my home (apartment 3.3 kw common charging) - I see better range than when I charge in my office (same 3.3 kw but with many people sharing the same board, there are chance of overload and less draw of power).

Re: Share your real-world Electric Car range here

Car and Model: Tata Nexon
Year of Manufacture: July 2022
Kilometers Driven: 32000+ kms
ARAI / Manufacturer Claimed Range:312
Real-World Range: 150-180
City Usage (%): 90%
Highway Usage (%): 10% (urban highways in Mumbai MMR)
Home Slow Charging (%): 100%
Outside Fast Charging (%): 0%
Battery Capacity: 33 kWh

It’s an urban commuter and does the job for me.
Wouldn’t dare to step out 60 km from home (need to account for the ride back too)
Claimed range is joke/scam.
But yes, must confess, the car has saved me a few lakhs already. Can’t whine away. Maintenance is laughably low compared to my earlier car. All this adds up to better the overall ownership experience.

Tata needs to up the game by offering more real world bang. They were the only affordable ones back then and so, swiftly moved up the sales charts. The options are many now and it’ll only grow. But this attitude of Indian companies is what I hate - keep pushing it till the competition pulls out bunnies & more bunnies.

That's a very good range. In fact I never came across such efficiency in ev prime. Have you got this similar range when you travelled long distances (draining the battery from 100 - 20/10?) Is this with AC on?

Thank you for sharing this. I was worried whether it was me only who was getting low range, but I think it is the common pattern when you drive in a enthusiastic mode.
However, I get around 300 when I drive in a sedate mode, but maintaining that mode itself is a headache and your heart pushes you to shift your driving pattern to an active one. After all, its the pleasure you get from driving an EV what matters

No This is without AC.
With AC I get 135-140 WH/Km.

Car and Model: MG ZS EV
Year of Manufacture: 2022
Kilometers Driven: 36000
ARAI / Manufacturer Claimed Range: 461
Real-World Range: 360-380
City Usage (%): 80%
Highway Usage (%): 20%
Home Slow Charging (%): 98%
Outside Fast Charging (%): 2%
Battery Capacity: 50 kWh

Please do consider that I am a very sedate driver. I have also extracted 200+km range with 50% of the battery with 100% AC on. Even on highways, my family doesn't like to be driven in triple digit speeds so I don't. In city I avoid the use of brakes as much as possible. During night drives I like to enjoy with the windows and sunroof open. Overall

Sorry for the off topic, but you have made a great choice for your username considering your driving style.

Have you calculated what your range was on 100% highway drives?
