Have they fixed the light steering? The two things that I could not come to terms with in the XUV400 were the lack of adjustable regen and that feather-light steering. Adding this would have made it more of a complete package IMHO.

I find three issues with XUV400. One, NMC batteries which have some issues. Nexon uses LFP batteries. Two (maybe minor for many), it still has incandescent bulbs in projector housing. Nexon has full-LED in facelift model. Three, lower ground clearance.

1. The new design language on the Nexon
2. 300 KM+ realistic driving range
3. More Nexon's sold, more niggles fixed and therefore a more mature product
But XUV400 is 4200 mm long, whereas Neon is 3994mm. That's a big difference!

It’s the only positive that makes any real life significance. Most don’t care about the scorching performance as the Nexon EV performance is not too far off. For that matter any EV will provide a scorching performance compared to the IcE car they previously drove.

DC fast charging speed is another major drawback of Nexon EV compared to XUV400.

XUV400 charges at around 45KW while Nexon EV max at 30KW and Nexon MR at only 22KW.

Re: Scoop! Mahindra XUV400 with floating touchscreen spied. EDIT: XUV400 Pro launched at Rs. 15.49 l

So wait a minute. If the XUV400 starts at 15.5L exshowroom, then what about the XUV300 EV we were hearing about until few days ago? If it ever sees the light of the day then the XUV300 EV should start at around 14L or even lower. That takes it right in the expected price band of the Punch.ev

However the XUV300 EV would be significantly more spacious and better than the microsuv based punch ev
Maybe that's what Mahindra is waiting for the Punch.ev to launch on 17th Jan and then figure out the pricing etc for all the XUV300 facelift, EV etc they have planned.

I am looking for every new EV launches these days. But somehow, I am finding the disappointment everywhere. Below is what I am looking for in my next car.
  1. Real world range : ~400km
  2. 360 degree camera
  3. Ventilated Seats
  4. Real AC
  5. Respectable Boot space
  6. Minimum 50kwh DC fast charging (100kwh+ even better)

Try checking out BYD atto3, it will hold good on almost all of your requirements.

Re: Scoop! Mahindra XUV400 with floating touchscreen spied. EDIT: XUV400 Pro launched at Rs. 15.49 l

Mahindra XUV400 was developed in collaboration with Volkswagen, particularly in the area of electric vehicle components. Mahindra and Volkswagen announced a partnership where Mahindra intends to equip its ‘Born Electric Platform’ with MEB electric components from Volkswagen. Volkswagen is providing Mahindra with electric drivetrains, battery systems, and their unified cells for Mahindra's electric SUVs under the INGLO platform, which includes the XUV400.

With Volkswagen now entering the Indian EV market directly and with rumours of this partnership not performing as expected, there is some risk associated with purchase of the XUV400 as opposed to buying a Tata EV product, in my opinion.

Atto3 ticks for the range. However, it misses on ventilated seats which are kind of high priority for me. And wife really dislikes it's child like interior design. Plus the on-road prices in Telangana are in 40s.

I am not very much sure about the factual correctness of this statement. If i recall correctly the collaboration with VW are for new vehicles coming in two sub brands. XUV.e and BE (INGLO). The new vehicles expected to come under XUV.e are XUV .e8 and XUV.e9.
XUV400 does not come under the above category.

You are indeed correct. I unfortunately cannot edit my original post. Looks like after the initial announcement, Mahindra ran into trouble with VW supplies.
