Scoop! Mahindra XUV400 with floating touchscreen spied. EDIT: XUV400 Pro launched at Rs. 15.49 lakh

Mahindra is all set to roll out the XUV400 facelift this year. Here are a few images detailing all the changes made to the electric SUV.

Surprisingly, the exterior of the XUV400 facelift looks similar to the outgoing version. Little has changed around the front end, with the car featuring a blanked-out front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs and L-shaped trim that extends from the fog lamps. It’s a similar story with the rear, with the same LED tail lamp cluster being carried over.

What has changed though is the interior. More specially, the updated XUV400 will get a larger touchscreen infotainment system. As you can see, the dashboard is under wraps, which means, we can expect to see a few changes in this area. The SUV is also likely to get a new digital instrument cluster.

According to recent reports, the XUV400 will be offered in 'EC Pro' and 'EL Pro' trims. The latter gets features like cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, front fog lamps, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Alexa and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster.

The electric SUV will be offered with two battery options: a 34.5 kWh battery with 250 km of real-world range and a 39.4 kWh unit offering 290 km of maximum range. The EC Pro variant will get the smaller battery pack, while the EL Pro customers will be able to select between the two battery options depending on their usage.

No changes to the front facia, well that is surprising, going by the spy shots that were shared on the forum I assumed the EV will also receive a facelift or maybe this is one the early test mules spotted undisguised.

A lot has been revealed about the future of Mahindra EV's

An Australian journo posted this video last night at time 26:08 you can clearly see the upcoming XUV8OO or XUV e.8 in all its glory without any camo. Only missing is the production lighting set up

Also seen is the XUV 700 rear door with a sun blind set up, maybe would debut on a minor facelift sometime this year (4:23)

Re: Scoop! Mahindra XUV400 with floating touchscreen spied. EDIT: XUV400 Pro launched at Rs. 15.49 l

Interesting. Isn't there a facelift incoming for XUV300 in Jan 2024?
or
Does this mean that XUV400 will not be upgraded with the facelift & it continues to sell with pre-facelifted model ?
Not sure how it makes sense to have 2 very similar products (XUV300 & XUV400) with different faces, won't it be more economical to have same face & associated production lines.

Is it just me or the BMW-inspired Joystick-like shifter for the XUV400 looks a lot more cooler and cohesive than the E-shifter on the Nexon Empowered+ LR????
I hope this one design element gets copied over to the XUV300 Facelift too!

Re: Scoop! Mahindra XUV400 with floating touchscreen spied. EDIT: XUV400 Pro launched at Rs. 15.49 l

Hi, updated interior is a welcome change, however, going by the battery size, weight & other aspects, I think realistic range for 39.4kWh battery pack is 220km to 230km (100% to 15%) in real world.

Those cities having zero road tax & registration, this will be a good choice for purely city purpose (home to office & back or similar kind).

If my high rise apartment association agree to provide me dedicated EV charging slot at my basement parking lot (at Noida Extension), I would certainly consider this over Nexon EV.

Same thoughts for me as well . If they do that , any consumer spending this much money would ideally wait for XUV400 to be updated to latest version.

All the spy shots of upcoming XUV300 facelift don’t have such a gear selector, instead they’re having the same AT gearbox like XUV700

I have gone through the feature list. I don't see a mention of adjustable regen. If it is not there, I think it will be a miss. They have undercut Nexon EV by almost 1.5 lakhs (comparing to Fearless Plus S model). This should bring some numbers to XUV400.

To give a price comparison XUV300 diesel AMT top Model comes for 17.4 lakhs on road in Delhi and XUV400 comes for 18.5 lakhs on road in Delhi. For Rs.1 lakh, you are getting additional space, updated interiors, true automatic and vibration free drive.

This car is already tested for real world range. The car easily gives 270-300 kms - 100% to 0% range.

Current owners from the Telegram group are getting anywhere from 110 Wh/km to 180 Wh/km based on individual driving style but most commonly reported efficiency seems to be around 130-140 Wh/km. So a realistic range of 240-260 km (100% - 15%) can be expected.

Hi Comrade - Thanks for the update. Practically XUV4OO seems better package than Nexon EV for the price. However, the way Mahindra launched it appears to be a half hearted attempt. They should have created hype about XUV4OO like they did for Scorpio N or XUV 7OO.

To my mind XUV4OO is a good EV for the price, however, Mahindra dealers & Service Network may not provide the kind of support XUV4OO deserve. I am saying going by the ordeal my friends faced with e2o Plus.

If I were in the market today for an EV and if it boils down between the Nexon and XUV400, then I would pay top buck and buy the Nexon. Primarily because:

1. The new design language on the Nexon
2. 300 KM+ realistic driving range
3. More Nexon's sold, more niggles fixed and therefore a more mature product

Two reasons I see for that -

1. Still has missing features -
1. 360 camera with front parking sensors
2. Lack of adjustable regen
3. Lack of Ventilated seats (They have Dual zone climate control)
4. Wireless android auto, apple carplay, reverse camera guidelines are to provided as a software update
5. Auto Hold and EPB

2. Tata raided their party with Gen2 architecture news - Tata is talking about a new platform for their EVs where Mahindra is bringing their car on par with the existing car.

I agree for the most bit but for people who do have the need to hit the highways the XUV400 holds an edge.

The Nexon EV max is capped to a painfully slow 30 KW on DC. We have lots of 50+ KW chargers poppind up nowadays and this leaves Nexon users to easily spend 20-30 mins more at charging stops compared to XUV400 users which can charge at 50 KW.
