March has passed. When will it be launched? Looking at spy pics, I do not have any high hopes, still curious about this car. It looks, for now, MG Comet will remain the winner for small urban car category.

Indeed. Was hoping that they would launch soon as I'm going to be in the market for a micro car soon. For the time being, comet seems to be the only option. With the delays in launching Gensol EV, I can't help but wonder about the after sales experience. At least that won't be the case with the comet.

There is another radical EV that is gearing up for a launch. Its called Robin and is being manufactured by Wings EV, a company based out of Indore. This one is targeted as a safer and green alternative to 2 wheelers. To that extent, story and narrative is different than Comet.

They have already started prebooking and are aiming to launch it around 2 ex-showroom! Its an extremely tiny car (as they have kept the size of the car comparable to a two wheeler) with bare bone specs. While it looks okay from outside, in my view, it doesn't look so nice from the inside. In fact there is a video of the founder in which he explains how they have kept the car priced so low (i.e. basically not including fancier stuff). Let's see how it comes up. Production nuisance is gonna be very high as they are offering 3 variants in 3 colors. It appears that the founders have not been part of manufacturing business, so that will create its own sets of challenge.

Critique aside, I hope they do well. Wishing them all the very best. We need more of these start ups coming from different parts of India.

A side note, company will also have to up their marketing bit and start with basic SEOs (search engine optimization)!

Seems like a two seater with no rear bench. I think putting a rear bench may not be possible with single wheel at the rear. Is it supposed to bridge the gap between two wheeler and entry-level hatchback, especially for the ride-hailing apps? I am apprehensive about it's sellability in the personal segment.

The design of the rims seems to be copied (maybe?) from the alloy design of Carens.
