The new Range Rover electric model is scheduled to make its debut in 2024, with the company calling it the "quietest & most refined Range Rover ever created."
The British carmaker has also announced that customers wanting to purchase the new Range Rover electric can put their names on the waiting list. These customers will be among the first to have the opportunity to place a pre-order.
The carmaker stated that the company has completed all virtual tests. The first physical prototypes have been built and are now undergoing on-road testing around the world. The test is said to evaluate the EV's electric drive system, battery, chassis integrity, vehicle dynamics and thermal derating. Land Rover claims that the performance of the upcoming Range Rover Electric will be comparable to the brand's flagship Range Rover V8 model. The Range Rover EV will also feature towing, wading and all-terrain technology.
While details of the Range Rover Electric are scarce, the company has revealed that the car will have an 800-volt electric architecture, allowing for rapid charging and that the electric SUV will have a water-wading capability of up to 850 mm.
Geraldine Ingham, Managing Director, Range Rover, stated, “Since going on sale in 2021, the latest generation Range Rover has set a new benchmark for desirability. Across the globe, we’re seeing the highest levels of client demand in our 53-year history. Because of this unprecedented success story, we’re now opening the official wait list for the opportunity to be among the first to place a pre-order for the most anticipated Range Rover of recent times.
