Kia unveils K-Charge app-based EV charging initiative

Kia has unveiled ‘K-Charge’ – a new EV charging initiative that allows users to discover over 1,000 EV charging stations. Non-Kia customers will also have access to these chargers.

Kia has collaborated with five charging point operators for this initiative. These include Statiq, ChargeZone, Relux Electric, Lion Charge and E-Fill. Reflux Electric will offer customers 3 months of free charging through their charging stations.

K-Charge has been integrated into the MyKia app. Users can view and locate the charging station through an interactive map. They can check the availability of charging slots and even pay through the same platform using the wallet service within the app.

Kia currently offers the EV6 electric crossover in India. The carmaker has set itself an annual sales target of 1 million EVs by 2026 and expand that to 1.6 million units annually by 2030.

Re: Kia unveils K-Charge app-based EV charging initiative

An excellent initiative from Kia, with just the EV6 in its lineup, Kia needs to bring in more EV models to take advantage of the growing interest in EVs, a couple of value for money EVs with good range would help Kia get a good share of the EV market, but for that they need to produce these cars locally, Let's see how this goes.
