Re: 2023 Tata Nexon.EV Review

Are there any plans to update tiago.ev in the near future?

Great pricing by Tata.
The only problem I have with Nexon, EV or not, is that it feels cramped for space. The sloping roof doesn't help. For the space alone, I am thinking of going for XUV400, which looks boring!

Nexon EV doesn’t really have any direct competition, XUV400 looks and feels positively obsolete in comparison. The new car has enough features and tech to go up against even the ZS EV, which costs 40-50% more. The medium range model of the new Nexon will be much better from a space and comfort point of view, as the rear seating position did not get compromised in the erstwhile Nexon EV Prime. Floor height was much lower.

Re: 2023 Tata Nexon.EV Review

The range of MR is 325 Km and the range of LR is 465 KM. The battery of LR(40KWH) is 1/3 time more than MR(30KWH). So range should also have been 1/3 times more in LR than MR which turns out to be 432 KM.
So is there any other internal difference b/w the two e.g. is regen less in MR?

Also while going through the specifications, the ground clearance of MR is 205 mm & that of LR is 190 mm which suggests that TATA has added additional battery on the downside. But as per reviews, the raised floor height at rear seats in LR makes it uncomfortable. Can anyone tell how much is the floor actually raised in millimeters?

Hi, I feel that Nexon.EV Creative+ will be priced very similar to Honda Elevate V CVT onroad Delhi (without road tax for EV) with similar feature list.

I think someone looking for a pure city drive (90% times in city), Nexon.EV Creative+ offers good value than say Elevate V CVT. In terms of space (except 120 litre less in Nexon.EV), it is as much spacious as Elevate. 210km real world range is good enough for most people against the 350km of Elevate (Before one refill or recharge).

Re: 2023 Tata Nexon.EV Review

Lovely product by Tata. Looks complete mid-life refresh compared to outgoing model. The way even EV cars are priced by manufacturers, hit or miss charging infrastructure, price difference between ICE model and its EV counterpart, potential car buyers may think multiple times before investing in EV technology.

New Nexon.EV intensi-teal colour. The new design goes rather well with this colour is what I feel!

Hi ! I have a Nexon EV (30kWh Battery). I am close to 5'11" and I haven't felt the car to be cramped, nor has any of my 6' tall friends complained of the same. Maybe the LR may feel cramped due to raised floor height.

Here’s how the new Nexon.ev stacks up against the Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric on the price graph.

The LR version also has 56kg of extra cell weight alone, with bus bars, coolant lines, bigger casing it will be around 62kg of more weight. In any vehicle be it IC or EV, weight plays a role in efficiency. Its around 2% drop in fuel efficiency for IC vehicles for every 50kg of additional passenger or cargo.

Also people who buy a Nexon with a black roof will have further drop in range vs the ones who choose a white roof and its probably vice versa for people in snowy places.

Re: 2023 Tata Nexon.EV Review

I am confused between fearless+S and empowered+ variants. The price difference is about 80k.
All the features seem cosmetic/ non essential as these aren't there in my current car (Tigor). But still tempted to go for the top variant. Any advice would be greatly appreciated if you find the below features to be non negotiable. Context - need a low maintenance car for daily city commute of around 100 km in Delhi NCR.
When comparing, I have listed the features that aren't there in the fearless+S variant.
1. Ventilated seats
2. Auto dimming IRVM
3. Air purifier
4. Rear seat armrest
5. Premium leatherette seats
6. 60-40 split
7. 31 cm touch screen
8. 360 camera
9. Blind spot monitoring
10. Subwoofer
11. Sos call button
12. Front parking sensors

Leatherette seats will save you 20k on seat covers. Ventilated seats and other features will make your 100km drive more comfortable.

Go for the top variant. The price difference relative to the car price is not a lot (about 4-5%). Further, 80k spread over five years is just 1333 extra per month.

I will say go for the top variant of long range or if you are looking for a vehicle with strict city usage and rare highway usage. I will say go for Empowered variant of Medium range (medium range easily runs 200 kms in single charge). It just misses out on V2V, V2L and the bigger screen.
