Dashcam footage:

Error occured when I braked lightly before merging with main lane, you can hear me slamming the brakes to maintain distance with wagonr in front. Tried increasing regen since brake pedal was hard, but regen stopped working after the error.
Was not able to shift to neutral from drive after stopping, switched off the car and then it was not allowing shift to drive mode. I had already travelled around 160kms, this error occurred just as I was about to reach home. Called Tata toll-free, they sent local technicians with 12V battery for jump start in 60 mins, even after mentioning that the car is on but not shifting to D. We also checked the IVBAC fuse as mentioned in that video but it was fine, so they asked me to call RSA. Flatbed arrived after 60 mins.

Waiting to hear back from SC.

Sorry to see you and 400notnout deal with this nonsense. So what happens exactly: does the car go into some kind of limp mode and these warnings start flashing one after another? Was your parking brake also jammed after engagement like in the case of 400notout? Since you both are in Mumbai, perhaps you can get the service centres to coordinate with each other to help a faster resolution. Maybe this would also get TATA to roll out a preventive action for this.

Yes, the car goes in limited performance mode and the IVBAC system shuts down completely resulting in hard brakes. I own the MR variant, so did not face any EPB related issues.

Did you get the car back? Mine did not take more than a day. Please do update what the SC guys told about the issue and how they managed to fix it.

I believe you had also faced this issue right? How did the SC diagnose your issue? Any parts replaced?

The issue in my case- The Brake Booster are run with an Aux Battery which went bad thereby cutting off all things related to brakes. I see you have faced exactly the same set of issues.

TATA sure learnt a lot from JLR and it's issues seem to carry forward. These issues are seen in almost all products from JLR.

Re: 2023 Tata Nexon.EV Review

Dear Team BHPians,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm currently in the process of deciding on a new SUV, and I'd greatly appreciate your insights and experiences.

I find myself torn between the XUV400 and the Nexon EV. While I'm drawn to the Nexon's design and interior, the XUV's performance has also caught my attention. However, the looming concern of range anxiety, especially during long trips with limited EV charging options, has given me pause.

On the other hand, I'm quite intrigued by the Nexon Diesel AMT Fearless Plus. The appeal of a traditional fuel source without the range concerns is reassuring, making it a tempting option.

To provide more context, the Nexon EV is costing me a significant 21 lakhs, while the XUV400 is priced at 18.62 lakhs, making it a substantial difference between the two. The tempting option, however, is the Nexon Diesel AMT Fearless Plus, with the top model coming in at a reasonable 17.8 lakhs on-road, proving to be an attractive proposition.

I'm navigating the balance between embracing the future with an EV considering its higher price but great performance and also considering the practicality and cost-effectiveness of the Nexon Diesel AMT. Size constraints under 4 meters add an additional layer to the decision-making process.

Your experiences and perspectives on these options will greatly aid me in making an informed decision. Looking forward to your valuable insights.

Cheers,
Bil007

Got the car back, SC mentioned that it was a software issue. Not very confidence inspiring.

I suspect the auxiliary battery might be the culprit. However, I'm surprised as to why the aux battery was not charged since the car had been running for 2-3 hours before this error occurred.

For frequent long trips, choose the Nexon Diesel. If occasional, an EV will suffice; but wait for Curvv if you decide to go the EV route.

At first they said it's an LV battery issue, but in the end they said it was a software issue and an update had fixed it. The software was surely updated but l found the whole thing suspicious. There was a lack of transparency in the whole deal.

Same as before. I had asked them to update to 12.70 but they said 12.60 is the stable one for now.

Strange that they say 12.60 is the stable one. I used to have issues like freezing on the infotainment and display in this version. When told this to the SC, they updated the software version to 12.70 and has been stable now.
