I hope they price sensibly and not like sedans. Most of which (AMG) remained unsold with MB. Even the local assembly have not done any meaningful numbers. Somehow, MB has not been able to crack the EV segment. Though BMW is not doing great either, they seem to be better.

Pretty unappealing/unattractive to be honest. Plus the gimmicky screen in the centre subtracts from any class the interior might have had arising from it being a 'Mercedes'. I'm sure someone who can afford a CBU merc doesn't care about efficiency to such an extreme that they spend their money on this bulbous boat of a car. Where is the Classy Mercedes we had till 2019~?

Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQE 500 4matic SUV in India at Rs 1.39 crore. The brand has not brought the more powerful AMG-spec EQE SUVs to the country but instead opted to bring only the top-spec model. The EQE 500 is the third electric car for Mercedes in India after the EQB SUV and the EQS sedan.

The Mercedes EQE 500 SUV comes equipped with a dual motor, all-wheel drive setup and includes an off-road package as standard. The SUV gets a 90.56kWh battery, which has a claimed WLTP range of 550km and can support up to 170kW of DC fast charging. The SUV produces 408hp and 858Nm, which allows it to accelerate from 0-100 kph in a claimed time of 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h.

I have the EQE 350 4Matic Sedan here in the US and love it. The drive is like a boat but the interior experience is unparalleled.

However, these are over produced, over priced and sell only after almost 20% is taken off original price through discounts and rebates. And that too on lease. They are worth only 70% the moment they are driven off the lot.

I wish MB provided the sportier looking exterior and interior as an option and offered these via CKD route for under 1 cr in the 350 4Matic trim instead of 500 trim. A good spec 350 4Matic trim would be under 90k USD and through CKD can easily fit well under 1 cr mark.

MB seems to simply skip the sportier looking variants - no AMG Line in petrol A, GLA, GLB, C, GLC and even in electrics (EQB, EQE, EQS).

They should have named it something else. The 'E' suffix indicates that it is one level down compared to eqs (which it is not). The IX doesn't mean that it is inferior to I7(which it is)

Even Peugeot is launching better looking cars than whatever the kind of blob this is.

That price looks insane

It looks like the MB India EV division hasn't learned anything from their past launches. BMW Is doing the opposite, getting newer fully loaded models, passing benefits by lower Interest and higher buyback values while MB continues to launch EVs that no one buys. Almost all of their EVs are either being sold at Discounts or are no longer available for sale. They need a better strategy for EVs as this segment needs hand-holding before customers have confidence in the technology.

I will be surprised if anyone buys this car.

I haven't seen that Q8, but size and feature wise it should be the most VFM option. Only if Audi also starts giving buyback options like BMW and MB India.

Absolutely ridiculous pricing. I think Mercedes-Benz is losing it in terms of value, which, in my opinion, is still really important in the luxury segment. Seems like they're still bitter about the BMW (i)7 beating the (EQ)S-Class!
